After "extensive" research, okay 4 days... I'm finding that my crisp menthol juice from Vapornine tastes much different depending on whether I'm vaping it from a Pilot or the DSE 901.

From the 901 it's more minty than menthol and has a lovely sweetness that's not overdone. With the Pilot there's no detectable sweetness and it's much less minty, more agressive menthol. The bothersome part is there is a definite metallic taste upfront, and although it does taper off into the menthol flavor it's unpleasant to experience. However, I will say that the pilot does deliver a better throat hit with less effort and more vapor with similarly moistened carts. End consensus is flavor over function, so at this point I prefer the 901.

Here's the deal. My pilot is 4 days old and I'm still waiting for it to be "all that". Can this possibly still be the breaking in period for a new atomizer? After all, I can only think it's the atomizer causing the strange added flavor, since both added fluid and carts have the same liquids.

If this is the case it's very discouraging. The flavor is slowly improving but is this what should be expected every time I stick a new atomizer on my Pilot- 4-5 days of metallic-chemical taste?

Does anybody here use a more thorough technique than blowing for brand new atomizers, and if so will it get rid of this taste?
