So I am a total newb at this..

Now that we have that out of the way, let me just say that I have two Kanger tanks and two batteries. Nothing fancy and I doubt I will ever get into modding as I see some of you have.

Question is; I just bought a sample kit of 5x 5ml bottles of various flavors. What is the best way to administer these to get the best taste etc? I don't really see a need in buying additional tanks as I am mostly the same flavor kind of guy. If I had no other option, I would eat the same thing for lunch for a year and not even complain. So I doubt I will go through much more than the 2 I have.

What have you guys done in the past or how do you test your flavors out and try the next one?

Do you have a shop handy? I'm in the same boat and am picking up little atomizer just for this purpose. No tank, just a little coil and wick to drip a few drops on and test the flavours. Check out this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...405910-regular-atty-drippers-dying-breed.html

There's lots of posts, but you'll quickly see what's going on.

I'm getting one of these (and an adapter as it won't fit my existing batteries) IKV 901 LR Atomizer 1.8 but there's no shortage of cheap 'n cheerful options out there

hope that helps some

If you DIY juice the 510 atty method is helpful. For you to try new flavors looking for an every day vape, I would get some inexpensive clearomizers that hold around 1.6 ml and try at least 1 ml at a time.

If you are new to vaping and just quit smoking, your taste will change over time.
That is exactly what I will do. I am new to vaping and have tried various tobacco blends. I am not really into the sweet stuff... I did try some menthol and I never used to smoke menthol, but I actually liked it. Will have to see how this goes. Since moving to an ecig though I feel like a baby with a pacifier!! :D I'm smoking this thing almost 24/7! Burning through about 3ml or so per day.

Yes that is easy to do. Until you feel ill, lol.

I swore I would never vape any flavors, only tobacco. Now my wife laughs at me for liking butter rum and tangerine. My favorite tobacco right now has a hint of apple.
So far no ill feelings! I get the urge to smoke a real one and keep puffing along until the feeling goes away. Sometimes that is some hours later! ;)

Very interesting to get this up and going! Still fighting some urges though, but when I do smoke a regular one, I feel ill from that and not from the vape...

I kept 2 full setups (1 joyetech ego passthrough 1300mAh with evod, 1 vision spinner 900mAh with evod) and had 2 different juices in each. I like to switch juices through the day and this setup worked well, I didn't have to keep screwing on and off tanks to swap flavors. For testing I'd just load 1 tank, and keep something I liked in the other. unless it was godawful i would just vape through the whole tank. I have some pretty messed up taste buds, so it takes a while for me to figure out how much I like something :)

I got into Rebuildables, so now I just use a dripper to test new flavors. Generally I smell the juice before attempting to vape it, if its too perfumy I set it down and wait another day or few :)

Well I have purchased 6 Kanger T2 tanks (mainly cost reasons) along with replacement coils/wicks. For tasting. They are fairly inexpensive and seem to be working OK. Plus for the juices I like I can just keep them in their tank and wash another...

I have my first kit from Dekang in:

Cappuccino - Sucks and tastes like buttered popcorn
Menthol - Listerine and definitely no menthol I have ever tasted
Usa Red - Didn't try yet
Kretek Black - Didn't try yet
Pallm - tasted chemical and sweet. Not really a cigarette taste.

I would think that these wouldn't need to steep, but maybe I am wrong? I can understand if you mix them yourself or if it is done for you on the spot, then I can see where steeping makes sense. Mass produced, seems like they would have enough time to mature? What is everyone's thoughts on this?

I have now since ordered a Halo tester:

Captain Jack
Prime15
Torque56
Tribeca
Turkish
Longhorn

Should be here on Saturday.

I am not big on tobacco flavors but given all I have read in the last year on ECF it looks like tobacco flavors are prime candidates for needing to steep for 1-4 weeks before they really taste right.

For those of you that are new here is my best advice. Get small bottles of stuff. If you do not like them right away set them aside. Your tastes WILL change a great deal over the next few weeks and months. Also the juices will change over time as well. It is not unusual for something that is nasty today to become nice in a few months. You have nothing to lose by setting them aside to try again in the future so don't toss them out. :)

That is refreshing to hear! :)

Yeah, I must say the Dekang sample kit I got in the mail yesterday was awful and I hope you are right about the steeping. What about the juice that I have in my tanks? Is it OK to just leave it there in the tank? I have 6 tanks in total, and I don't need them right away. I thought maybe I would try and transfer one of the tobacco's to the menthol and see how that goes..?
