Very interesting. You should be writing something as you sure have a knack

That's entirely possible. A rather lengthy quote from a psychology text:

All of that means you may well not be 'wired' for peach as strongly as I am. It's also entirely possible you got an 'off' batch, or I got a batch with a particularly heavy dose of peach (hung-over while mixing, perhaps?). Either way, the subjectivity of taste is one of the most fun aspects of going through these liquids; I get to see how much I agree or disagree with a fairly wide sampling of people, which tells me as much about myself and my own taste as it does about the liquids themselves.

Thank you. I average 2500 words/week currently with classes, and that's before I hop on ECF...think I'll stick to this forum as my non-compulsory writing outlet for now! I also think the internet is rather.....clogged....with bloggers, reviewers, and a few other forms of mental evacuation. I want to combine the coursework with my reviews here to refine my style and find my voice a bit more before investing the effort into creating something that stands on its own.

And it's time to revisit my first Ahlusion purchase! I have a confession to make - the Cafe Au Lait and Kona Kick didn't even last a month; they were that good! I would fill a tank, thinking "I've got 10mL, one tank won't kill it..." and repeat, until I finished both last week

A couple of preliminary notes:

Price: Ahlusion comes out to $0.53/mL when buying a 30mL bottle, which puts them right in the range of most good vendors. No issues there, thumbs up.
Service: A touch longer to process than some, but it's because they mix to order, so it's worth the extra 3-4 days IMHO. Communication was excellent throughout, and they send a coupon code via email when they ask for feedback; that alone makes them a HUGE two-thumbs-up company.
Packaging: Plastic bottles (for the 10mL) with needle tips, easy to fill any kind of tank or atty, printed labels. Not exceptionally fancy, but definitely professional. 30 mL bottles are dark blue glass, with normal caps for shipping and squeeze-tops included in individual sterile packages for ease of filling. Thumbs up.

Onto the flavors, tasted on a Vamo V5 and HH.357 at 2.0 ohms. Initial tasting in plain text, follow-up tasting in italics.

Boba Tea - This one is very subtle. I like the hint of sweetness without it being overpowering. Having never tasted actual boba tea, I can't comment on how close it is to the real thing, but this vapes nicely and would be a good choice to fill your tank for a road trip or long session at the desk. The flavor kind of sneaks up on you rather than punching you in the face, and doesn't linger like a lot of the sweeter flavors I've tried. It can be overpowered by stronger tastes if you're pairing it with your morning cuppa joe or eating, but overall a very agreeable vape.

This has smoothed out delightfully. The spices are still there, and still perfect in their subtlety. I definitely plan on re-ordering in 30mL size, as this liquid can stand up to some extended sessions without ever becoming boring. The creamy note is just sweet enough, and the spices are just interesting enough, to keep the taste buds awake and guessing for more than a few hours. This will be in a tank any time I'm reading or spending a lot of time in front of the computer. Two thumbs up and re-order!

Cafe Au Lait
- Ahlusion absolutely NAILED this flavor. You get the coffee base, the steamed milk, and no sweetness. It's just delightful, and perfect in the morning to go with your first cup. I'm a coffee junkie, and I get the distinct impression they strove to mimic a french roast for this one, and hit it just right. This one will be making the morning rotation along with my existing favorite coffee vape (Mountain Oak Coffee & Cream), and the Kona Kick discussed below.

Yeah...this one didn't even last a month, it was so good. I already have a 30mL bottle resting, and will likely keep a supply of this on-hand at all times. It matches its description just PERFECTLY, and is a joy in the morning standing on the porch while the dogs frolic and burn off the night's pent-up energy. Two thumbs up and entry into permanent rotation!

Chai Latte - I'm getting the chai, not so much the latte. The spices are there, and blended well, but there's no creamy note I can detect yet. Hoping a good steep will mellow out the chai spice blend and let the cream come through.

Rest has done wonders for this one just like the Boba Tea. It's smoothed out considerably, allowing the 'latte' notes to come out on the exhale to smooth out the chai spices. It's complex and layered, with the latte note somehow mixing cream and foam - I don't know how they did it but it's definitely there. I will likely reorder this one but won't keep it on permanent refill status. Thumbs up.

Cherry Cola - Oh Ahlusion, this gives me a sad. I have heard so many good reviews of this, and love me some cherry cola, that I was really excited to try this juice. Unfortunately, I'm getting a taste like cola served in a glass recently washed with cherry-scented soap and poorly rinsed. I'm going to switch tanks and hope I had a dirty wick/coil, or maybe a good steep will help this one. I'm not giving up on you, Ahlusion Cherry Cola!

Time has helped considerably, as the 'soap' note is gone. The cherry has come forward, in more of a dark cherry than maraschino flavor. This, like CRFT's Lime Cola, reminds me of the mega 'you choose it' soda machines popping up now, where you select your base soda and then add flavor shots. It tastes like adding a cherry flavor shot to Coke Zero; there's still a kind of chemical note I associate with zero calorie colas. Good but not great, I'm going to give this one a couple more weeks to rest but don't project to re-order. Thumbs sideways leaning upward.

Kona Kick - Instant re-order. This one hits the advertised flavor perfectly; a dark cup of black Kona Coffee, steaming and delicious on a cold morning. If you like your coffee black, strong and filling the room with that delicious 'time to get off your ..., bubba' aroma, this is the vape for you.

Just like the Cafe Au Lait, this one only lasted three weeks and has been replaced by a 30mL bottle currently resting. Like the Cafe Au Lait, this one will ALWAYS be in my rotation. It's just excellent; coffee is an incredibly individual taste and preference (see: neverending debate between Starbucks/Dunkin/Peets/Green Mountain, Nespresso/Keurig/Drip/Espresso/etc/etc/etc), and this one is right in my wheelhouse. I always have one tank filled with a coffee liquid, and this one rotates with the Cafe Au Lait and Mountain Oak's Coffee & Cream. Two thumbs up and permanent rotation!

Overall, I am loving Ahlusion's liquids. The price is reasonable, the handling professional, the service personal, and the flavors are excellent. They are quickly moving to the top of my vendor list. Two thumbs WAY up for Ahlusion overall!

I understand. Hope you will at least ad your reviews to the AHL website so others can enjoy your very descriptive words (you can copy and paste from here):)

I'm a huge Boba Tea fan. Glad you're enjoying it, too! When you reorder it in 30ml, if you can, leave some to try after the 6+ week mark. It just keeps getting better and better!

I read your reviews of Ahlusion's juices and it was so well written and well done that I have since read this entire thread. You have a gift of drawing a picture with words. Well done, and I will follow this thread and wait for your next review.

Thank you very much :) It's nice to know these are being read and enjoyed, rather than just floating off into the ether. Hoping to get a batch in today, if the USPS is good to me there will be new flavors discussed in a few hours!

My first contest win, thus my first 'freebie'!!! I was lucky enough to win a 15mL bottle from originvape.com, and chose their Pimp Juice.

Service: Can I fault it? Even if I hadn't gotten this for free, with the effort on my part reduced to posting on a fun thread and PMing my address, it was still lightning fast and personal. It was mailed the day after the contest closed, and arrived in two business days. Two huge thumbs-up.

Packaging: Another big thumbs-up. Glass bottle with dripper top, with a professional printed label. They even gift-wrapped the bottle after it had been securely wrapped in bubble wrap!

Price: Mine was free, but since this is a review, it's included. $0.60/mL at regular pricing, only available currently in 15 mL bottles (to my knowledge). Slightly higher than average, but nowhere near 'boutique' prices (coughcoughFIVEPAWNScoughcough) and well worth it IMHO.

Taste: Tasted on a Vamo V5 with HH.357 at 2.0 ohms after being allowed to sit with the cap off for two hours then shaken. The taste is advertised as resembling Sweet Tarts candy, and they have it dead-on. I get primarily the reddish sweet tart (raspberry), but there are citrus notes lurking on the exhale as well. Most interestingly to me, I also get that dry, powdery 'kick' of a mouth-feel you get from those candies. It makes me nostalgic for the times I used to scrounge through the couch cushions, hop on my BMX bike, and head to 7-11 with a dollar and change in coins, and get what candy I could to satisfy my sweet tooth. Two big thumbs up, and I suspect this will rest wonderfully.

Oh, man, do I love vapemail days! Have a bunch today, we'll start with Bionic Vapor; I got their 'full line' sample pack.

Service: Two thumbs up. The order shipped quickly, arrived quickly, and QC was evident on the invoice. Email communication was constant and proactive; I never needed to wonder what the status of my order was.

Packaging: Two thumbs up. The liquids come in plastic bottles with dripper tips (the standard 10mL) with professional labels, come bubble wrapped and securely packaged.

Price: Two BIG thumbs-up. It comes out to $0.25/mL when you buy in 30mL bottles, an extra $0.50 tacked on if you want it in glass bottles (raising the price to a whopping $0.26/mL). This is near the bottom end of pricing I've found.

Flavors:

Countryside: Advertised as a full-bodied tobacco with almond and honey notes. It is full-bodied indeed! I am usually 'meh' when it comes to tobacco flavors, as I've really been enjoying the range of flavor options since switching from analogs. This one is, however, quite good. It has a solid but not unpleasant throat hit, with the tobacco coming on the inhale and being mellowed by the honey and almond on the exhale. I suspect after a rest it will be even smoother and more complex. Thumbs up.

Groundbreaking: Advertised as a lingering RY4 with complex notes that the makers challenge us to identify. With a flavor this good, challenge accepted! The RY4 is there, and the complementary notes I get are primarily Kaluha...or is it cocoa, like a high-end cocoa....or is there a hint of Nutella in there...it's hard to nail down, and that's its biggest strength. It makes me want to keep vaping away, trying to find what makes it so darn good. Two thumbs up.

Dance With Miami: I get guava up front, peach and mango on the exhale, and happiness throughout. It's excellent; sweet without being cloying, and layered enough to keep me interested. It makes me really crave a cocktail served in a hollowed-out coconut with a paper umbrella sticking out of it, served by a dutifully friendly beach waiter, while I lay back on my reclining beach chair and enjoy an unobstructed view of deep blue water. Two thumbs up.

Drunken Jungle: Advertised as a strawberry-banana cocktail with notes of rum, this one missed. I get a touch of strawberry on the exhale, there might be a banana somewhere in the same zip code, and I'm in a dry county - no rum whatsoever. It's just too subtle, almost to the point of being tasteless. Thumbs down, hoping rest brings the flavor out of this one.

Taste the Rainbow: Remember when you were a kid, and would get a bag of mixed-flavor candy like Skittles or Sweet Tarts, and you'd separate each color out and have a few at a time, and then get tired of it and throw a handful of whatever into your mouth and chomp away happily? That's this liquid. I get the 'red' flavor the most, somewhere between strawberry and cherry, without it being too cloyingly sweet. Thumbs up.

Tropical Cruise: A 'mystery mix' of 9 fruits, this is DELICIOUS. I get a lot of guava on the inhale, but there are a bunch of other flavors waiting to come out and introduce themselves. This one feels like it will have a different taste/feel every time I vape it, after a rest and into perpetuity. A definite two thumbs up, this one promises to keep delighting every time I load it up.

Overall, two big thumbs up for Bionic Vapor! The price is outstanding, the service solid, and five of the six flavors were excellent. Considering I'm a baseball fan, and thus consider .300 to be an excellent average, it's worth noting the Bionic line came in at .833 on its flavors; that is just plain noteworthy. I am looking forward to the 'coming soon' flavors they're advertising on the website, as they definitely have 'the touch'!

....and now an order from Giant Vapes! I won't link to the individual companies' sites, because as you'll see below I found the experience with this 'clearinghouse' site so positive I want to drive clicks their way!

Service: Two thumbs-up. Fast processing (shipped the same day), proactive communications, all around solid, especially for the volume they surely handle.

Packaging: Two thumbs-up. I'll address each company separately, but the package came with all bottles bubble wrapped, then boxed securely.

BONUS: They sent me a 'pre-release' sampler of Derp Sauce Joe Me Gusta. Even if the liquid had not been to my liking, this small touch really impressed me; it's an excellent marketing tool, and I'll admit it - I felt kinda special:blush:. This alone, and I'm not lying, would have gotten my repeat business. It helps that they're the exclusive source for one of my favorite liquids, too.

Flavors

Alice in Vapeland - $0.58/mL when purchased in 30mL size. Comes in glass bottles with eyedropper tops, with professional labels and a little 'charm' hung on each one. Whimsical and charming on the packaging.

Cherry Blossom Tea: This might be the first and only time I use 'delicate' in a liquid review, and it's for all the right reasons. I get a dark cherry up front, delicately, with a slightly spicy and, you guessed it, delicate note of green tea on the exhale. Makes me want to very precisely arrange my setup, and perform a proper vape ceremony. It puts me into mu-shin, the state of 'no mind' samurai and tea masters strove to enter before engaging in their trades. I really like this, and think it will be even better after a rest. Two big thumbs up and very likely re-order.

Mangri-La: AiV had quite a challenge with me when they made this liquid, as mangoes with sweet sticky rice is perhaps my favorite dessert of all time. Well.....Yup yup yup. This is perfectly done. The mix is perfect; it's like the one time a year, maybe the one DAY a year, when the mangoes are perfectly ripe, all bitterness gone but not yet too sweet. This is fantastic. JUST FANTASTIC. Did I say fantastic? The sticky rice hits on the exhale, making me immediately want another hit for more mango. Two thumbs way up and INSTANT inclusion in the rotation.

Virgin Vapor - $0.77/mL in the 15 mL bottle. Comes in a glass bottle with eyedropper top, professional label.

Organic Kona Coffee Milkshake: More like Kona coffee with cream than a milkshake. It's good, but I expected more sweetness in the cream notes. Hoping a rest will bring the sugars out, this has a lot of potential. Thumbs sideways for now.

Derp Sauce - usually $0.60/mL in the 30mL bottles. Came in a wee plastic bottle with dripper tip, professional and amusing label. This was a freebie, not released yet.

Joe Me Gusta: Dark, DARK roast coffee. No cream. No sugar. No NEED for either. This is really, REALLY nice – now I want to explore their line despite the cutesy names and troll-face drawings, which usually make me want to punch babies when I see them on the internet. Makes me want to eat a piece of cake at an exceptionally expensive restaurant, then step outside to vape it while my wife waits for her espresso to brew.

I'd like to make sure this is stated explicitly:

I am not a paid reviewer.

I have no financial stake whatsoever in whether or not people visit suppliers' websites or make purchases as a result of my reviews.

I haven't been accused of this, and it's probably clear that I'm doing this just to do it, but I just saw my first "nice review, I bought from them as a result" reply on another thread and don't want a misconception that I'm trying to drive traffic for profit to muddy this thread in any way.

Thanks, back to vaping!
