I use my samsung charger for my MVP all the time, it's fine. They both charge at 5 volts dc. If you need that warm and fuzzy just take a look at the 'block looking thingy' that plugs into the wall. It should say 5V (same as charging from your lap top with the white innokin cord)

Never heard of anyone blowing up an ecig with a cell phone charger, but then again I don't have a TV.

I'll sometimes use the wall wart that came with my Samsung tablet.

As long as the output is 5 volts, high enough mA and the right polarity, should be fine.

But - I'm confused. You say "the batt just died" - and the MVP is a non-replaceable battery.

Or do you mean the wall wart? Or the cord??

If either of those, go to any big variety or electronic store, where you can get both. I usually use a 4 port wall wart, so I can charge more than one device at a time. And the USB2 to MICRO extension cable will work fine - be sure it's MICRO, not MINI.

The user manual that came with my MVP 2, #11 under warning, states: "...We recommend you use a high quality USB wall charger with 5V 500MAH (CE&UL certified)."

Most cell phone chargers I have seen are 1AH (1000MAH) which is double the recommended. All that said, you should be able to use the higher current but it could shorten the lifespan of the battery.

If I understand this correctly (and I may not), the mah rating only refers to the amount of power draw the charger can withstand, and has nothing to do with the MVP battery (think of it just like a fuze in your car, or anything else). As long as the wall charger is a 5 volt charger, the mah rating is inconsequential.

If I'm wrong someone please correct me because I do not want to hand out bad info. I have however been using various chargers that use 5 volt for months now, and have experienced no adverse effects whatsoever.

It depends on the regulation circuit on the board. I don't know enough about the MVP's so I said "could shorten". Usually it would be fine to use, even long term.

ETA - I walked away while typing that. Outcast - if you mean what I think, that adapter should work. Just never try to charge through the 510/ego connection.

The three magic rules , yet a again :

Buy quality equipment .
Read, understand and follow the instructions .
Maintain the equipment .

This thread has quite a bit of infringement of rule2 .
There's plenty of mAh , assumptions and anecdotal advise .

RTFM and stop messing around , you are adults with a free mind .
I am not saying if anything is safe or not , but you need to know from yourself and not from what some netz post says .
