Upgrading setups from generic starter eGo kits and want to do a quick check for thoughts and feedback. The (pretty basic) requirements were tanks had to be pyrex and bottom coil, batteries needed to be VV with a full day charge (based on how we vape). At this time we wanted to stick with the "add juice, clean when needed, replace when dead" level of maintenance. We also decided we wanted to try two different tanks to see if we had a preference. We were going to do the same with batteries, but both were leaning heavily towards the iTaste.

We did some reading and some research but we're new to vaping, so there's a pretty good chance we missed a consideration. What we came up with was:

2 Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 batteries (standard micro-USB was a huge factor there)
1 Kanger Mini Protank 2 V2 - BCC Pyrex Glassomizer (+ extra coils)
1 Aspire ET-S BDC Glassomizer (+ extra coils)

Pull the trigger (well, click the button) on the order? Thanks!

PT2 mini + iTaste vv3 is a very nice combo IME. My favorite small setup ATM.

From looking at pictures, I get the impression that the airholes in the ET-S base sit lower than those in the PT2 mini. That may pose a problem, because the Ego cone threading of the iTaste is pretty massive and may block them.

For example, iTaste vv + Evod = bad draw, because the Evod's air holes sit so low on the base that the Ego threading of the iTaste (hidden inside the Evod base) partially blocks the air holes.

Looks purty sane to me Kellin. I would have no problem with any of that kit as a step up from plain eGo. You even put in for extra coils! :) Something a lot of people forget about.

It's also good that you are getting both a PT and an Aspire to compare and contrast. Some people love one, some the other, a few love both.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the "we" factor. If this is gear for two of you a single VV V3 each may not get one person through an entire day without needing a recharge. Some of that can be compensated for depending on how you plan to use it. Like if you sit/work at a computer and are planning to use it plugged in as a passhtrough device for part of the day.

My thoughts as well, Rick, the "we" suggests to me it's for two folk. While the "pass-thru" may work, sometimes you're just not somewhere you can plug in. Each vaper should have at least two of everything.

I just had my "DOH!" moment about that: They already have the eGo setups as well so this may not be the only equipment in play.

Got the new toys in yesterday (I do love living in 1 day delivery range of My Freedom Smokes) along with a vapemail full of Ahlusion juices. So far extremely happy with the iTaste and no problems with the draw on the Aspire. I put them side by side before attaching it and the threading ends just a smidgen below the air holes. It does, however, block the air holes on the generic tanks we have - that was a bit of a bummer, but thanks for the head's up as I knew immediately what the problem was when we tried 'em out.

Rickajho, interestingly (and I can't put my finger on why), I prefer using the Kanger PT to the Aspire, but my husband felt exactly the opposite so it seems we will probably be picking up spares of both in the future if no issues develop to change our minds. We both like the ability to see the juice level on the Kanger without squinting, tilting and so on but he is a bit rougher on things in general so Aspire still wins for him with the metal shell. As I said, we are pretty new to vaping, but very pleased with these as our "next step".

Thanks so much for the feedback - we're delighted. Now to start playing around with settings. :)

The problem with all this stuff is it's sure a hell of a lot more complicated than smoking. It's just subtle differences in the design of these tanks - and then how the user draws on them - that can make the love/hate relationship happen with them.

As far as playing with settings goes: Don't over think it and avoid those ohms/volts/watts charts. The bottom line is with either voltage or watts mode you start a new coil at your lowest volts/watts setting and move it up until you get the flavor and vapor output you like. Starting at too high a setting - just because "the chart" says so - can trash a coil in short order and leave new users puzzled as to why it's not working out well. After all - you consulted "the chart"...

New, shiny clean coils typically work very well at lower than suggested voltages. Used coils need the voltage bumped up as they get gunked up from use. Then you forget you bumped the voltage up - and need to move it back down when you put in a new coil. A volts/watts setting isn't an exact science.

Just keep it simple - always start low and only move up as needed.

So, short term followup - extremely happy with the setup. The micro-USB turned out to be bigger than we thought since we have charging stations all over the house and in the cars so very convenient. Love the pass-thru. Both of us are happy with the tanks and I've had multiple people either comment on or ask about the iTaste VVs.

Thanks so much for the input, suggestions and feedback. :)
