Satisfaction Level Decreased After 1 Day of Vaping

Hi,

I first tried a pen style [112-atomizer] 2 years ago, had enjoyed it for a few days but suddenly the taste and satisfaction to nic-craving just vanished  .......... so I had to quit and fell back on analogs. Then tried 510 [atomizer] and the same thing happened :(. Since then I kept trying them after every few months but did not get lasting satisfaction.

A week ago when I started feeling very short of breath, I ordered Boge Revolution V2 [cartomizer] with Dekang 24mil Marlbro. As soon as I started vaping I got very good taste and satisfaction :2cool:. But just after 1 day, I got hit by the same vicious cycle and not getting good taste and most importantly not getting any satisfaction to my nic cravings . Let me tell you that I kept the cartomizer filled and therefore this could not be a result of burnt cartomizer.

I wonder if anyone else got into this trouble and is there any solution to this problem?

I am determined to persist and not smoke analogs any more.

Please help!

I feel your pain!

There is more than nictoine in your cigarettes - and those effect your "enjoyment" as well as the nicotine addiction. Does that make sense?

I couldn't go "cold turkey" from the analog to the PV. I had to wean myself from the 1000's of other chemicals. Dole out how many smokes you'll let yourself have. I went with 10 to start because that was half of what i normally smoked. And then I made it a game to to see how many of those 10 I could have left over at the end of the day. (without killing my patient husband and wonderful kids)

It took about 3 weeks before I went more than 1 day with out a cig.

Give yourself permission to transition.

Welcome to ECF and Congratulations on your determination to keep up the good fight! First of all, remember that every cigarette you did not smoke is a big WIN! A lot of us on here - including me - either weren't willing or weren't able to put down the analogs entirely in favor of vaping, so we did both for some time. I'm probably one of the worst of the bunch in this regard; started vaping back in (I think) August of last year and haven't had a single smoke-free day yet, though I've only had one today.

Remember this is not an "all or nothing" deal. As of this moment, you have a choice. Whenever you want a cigarette just remind yourself, you don't *have* to have one, you have your PV and can vape it instead. And if you're torn on making that decision you have a THIRD choice: you can wait a few minutes and then decide. Just try to keep looking at this whole endeavor in a positive light & it will turn into a very positive experience for you, even if it's not exactly what you expect it to be. Good luck, God Bless you and Happy Vaping! :vapor:

I did transition right away, without tapering the cigs. For me there was a hump at day 4-5. It was definitely more bearable than with my cold turkey attempts. Then I had a bigger craving problem after about 10 days when I had to take a very long drive. Driving long distance was one of my more powerful triggers, it turns out, and being after a meal and driving on the highway made me crazy for a cig. I followed some advice here and vaped like crazy and held the vapor in the mouth and nose as long as I could. It kinda helped, but not 100%.

Bottom line, people may portray this transition as easier than it is. That's simply because it's so much easier than quitting altogether, but there is still an element of quitting. MAOIs (antidepressant substances that also prolong / enhance the effects of nicotine), the more abrupt rise in blood levels, the presence of carbon monoxide that gives a little "asphyxiation euphoria" - these are all factors of cigarette enjoyment that are not substituted by vaping. I guess you still have to want to get rid of smoke for the transition to work.

I cannot know how hard it can be for you - but I think you should keep trying if that's what you want. It seems people succeed in different ways, so I'd just explore more. Don't get discouraged.

I felt similarly for the past week or so... would rely on my 510 during the day and sneak a couple of analogs from my boyfriend's pack before bedtime. I've read it gets better though with time. Like darkwitless said, there are other addictive chemicals other than nic in a cigarette, so transition seems to be a process. I definitely feel withdrawal even though I'm vaping which I wasnt expecting.

Congrats on trying ecigs again... I hope you find it to be a good option for you in the long run. ECF community is very supportive and the veterans are awesome and can help you get to the bottom of this.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "after one day"... Did you vape all day without refilling your cartomizer??? If so, I'm not surprized that you're unhappy. A typical Boge cartomizer holds about 1 ml of ejuice--it needs to be refilled early and often. 1 ml doesn't last very long at all. If you calculate ~5 or 6 puffs per each drop of eliquid, a single carto is good for 80-90 puffs before it needs to be topped off.

If you do refill your carto and get good vapor production but the cravings don't go away, you may be one of those vapers for whom nicotine alone is not enough. If that's the case, I suggest you consider getting some Swedish snus in additon to vaping.

I'm one of the rare breeds that's quit cigarettes and went straight into vaping without ever backsliding. And I say that with no intention of bragging (not my style). I say that so I can say this. It's been 13 months since I've had a cigarette and the urge is still there, in case you didn't notice by the fact I remember the exact day I had my last smoke. :p For me the urge/want for cigarettes has never disappeared. I could still have one right now as a matter of fact. But the temptation does become less severe as time goes on. I think the trick is just finding a set up that truly works for you and your style.

But like everyone else has already said, keep up the good fight! Making the choice to start vaping is certainly a step in the right direction. Nothing in life worth getting is ever easily attained. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and super great people. So just stick with it and you'll eventually find a system that really works for you. Good luck!

Here is what I have come to find is the best satisfaction without breaking the bank . I have 3 eGo batteries, two are the 1000mah, and one 1000mah pasthrough from cignot. The passthrough is way better convenience and quality wise. I use Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers from madvapes $2.50/ea. And I vape backwoodsbrew! This has been the best vaping configuration after one and a half years of vaping from the 510 dripping to ego tanks ... 3.7v to 5v to 6v..
This keeps me from the nasty f-ing cigs.

I too went cold turkey from analogs to vaping. 2 weeks in and I have no desire for a smoke. In fact, I've smelled two since I quit, and they actually turned my stomach. Not bragging, just feeling fortunate. I wish I knew the magic trick that would work to help all of you who are struggling, but I offer you encouragement. Participating here actually does help. It's nice to be intellectually involved as well a physically when trying to break such a strong habit as smoking - plus it's easy to see that no matter what your experiences have been, you aren't alone - someone else has the same story to tell. Just keep at it guys. The benefit to your quality of life far outweighs the initial cost of finding the right mix of equipment and juice that works for you.

Like Warren said, it's not "all or nothing." Just try each day to replace one more cigarette. Pretty soon, they'll be out of your life for good.

You also keep smoking and when you stop your tastebuds go bonkers and go mute for a day or two.

Also...if you want to stop smoking...STOP SMOKING and exclusively vape. Giving up after a day isnt giving youirself much of a chance. Vape exclusively for a week and that urge to do what is familiar will go away...but if you keep returning to it like you HAVE to is just making things harder for you.

Once you get into the habit of vaping...cigs start to smell like .... and taste like hot garbage and you realize how pointless they are.

I smoked for 16 years at a pack a day...Ive been vaping for 2 months and have no urge at all to go back.

Its not that hard really.

I dunno quite what to make of your post, what you are looking for. A couple things come to mind:

The first is the rude awakening that some new vapers have to figure out: Vaping is not smoking and it cannot or does not equal smoking. If the expectation is to find a vaping experience that can give you what you get out of cigarettes, realistically, that isn't going to happen. Two very different processes going on here, one involving burning stuff, the other does not. Vaping is a different experience. Does what you get out of it work for you?

The other issue is you just haven't found what you need in vaping hardware or liquids to make you happy. Some people - myself included - have/had a harder time of it giving up cigarettes in the transition to vaping. Unless there is something about your hardware that really frustrates you, the most common problem with not being able to give up the butts is not using a high enough nic level in your liquids.

And possibly not vaping enough. Again - different experience than smoking. You don't get instant gratification nicotine rushes from vaping. The nicotine gets in your system slower from vaping. I had to work at vaping enough in the early weeks.

Probably the best way for us to help is by you telling up what you smoked - brand and how much - and what nic level liquids you are vaping.

Hi
I can relate somewhat. I had quit last July for a week and then started analogs again when I visited a friend and she thought she is doing me a favor by buying 2 packs. :( I have been trying off and on since then, but the hubby still smoked so it was hard to say no when I had analogs available. He finally decided to quit too and the only way I was able to quit was to NOT have any cigarettes around. I am on day 7 now without having a smoke. Things that motivate me not to smoke is walking by an ashtray outside of walmart and smelling cold smoke and just knowing that it is healthier.

I sort of have the same problem as you as far as the taste. I don't know if its me or the equipment. Sometimes I get a really good hit with an awesome taste, and the next hit just tastes nasty - no flavor, bitter after taste, etc.
I just keep changing flavors and also try different attachments. I use the 510 now but got the hubby the ego and I kind of like the ego better. I have the same problems with both of them though. Sometimes its tasty and sometimes its not. So I am still experimenting getting info on here. I now tried tanks to see if that is better and just ordered dual coil cartomizers to try them. I also read that different vendors have different juice, like you could get Vanilla flavor from 2 different vendors and one may be better to you than the other. So you could also try ordering your juice from somewhere else to see if that is better.

The important thing is that you WANT to quit! That is the first step, now you just have to find a way that is right/easiest for you. When I really want an analog I also ask myself "WHY" and I can never come up with a good answer besides that I am feening for one. You may have to do a bit of trial and error experimenting with different stuff, but ones you succeed and find what works for you just think about how much money you will be saving by not buying analogs anymore.

I wish you all the best. Stick with it! :)

I made the transition in one day minus a few buts here and there. I smoked three cigs out of my emergency pack in that first week. I however was in a situation that promoted this... I wasn't working with smokers and wasn't around any smokers. Now over a year later, I work with smokers again. Lets just say I have had some setbacks. I have to apply lots of effort to not go on those smoke breaks with my co-workers. I have been better about going outside with them and vaping though.

Find a good setup and liquid and it gets much easier! I let my cig smoker friends hit my vape and they choke and get a rush every time, so I'm pretty sure my setup is good.

It took me over a year to figure out what works for me, a heavy ex-smoker. I fill my carto twice a day and have a couple switch between if one isn't hitting as hard as I like. No constant dripping. The cartos are cheap and last quite a while holding 5ml. Batteries have lasted me over six months. I would strongly suggest looking into my setup I listed in my previous post.

Yah, and like Zodas said.. give it a week and you will start to hate the smell and taste of cigs. You won't want that smell on you and you will make the transition. No going outside every 15 minutes, saving you a hell of a lot of time! After you realize how much extra money you have in your pocket, well... that will be a nice little incentive also! Keep it up man, it will happen if you want it to.

snssewell, you are on the right track with the dual coil cartos. what you need is the mega dual coil carto for the ego and get your liquids from backwoods. vanilla and toffee are very good, however I didn't find that out until I realized I didn't need tobacco flavors anymore. get the ego mega cartos from madvapes.com and the liquids from backwoodsbrew.net, I cannot stress that enough. i wasted so much money buying from countless vendors before i found something that satisfied for more than a day. good luck to all of you!
