Hello from Northern California.

I have been a 1 1/2 pack menthol smoker for over 30 years. I have tried quitting many times and have never made it past 1 full day until now. A couple of nights ago I got a disposable e-cig and couldn't believe how good it tasted and how well it satisfied the craving. Last night I got the BLU Starter kit from Walgreens and am enjoying the experience, taste and satisfaction. I'm not impressed by battery life and am glad I have 2 batteries.

My plan is to vape for a while and work my way down to the no nicotine cart and quit from there.

Thanks for the welcome's! We will be out and about Christmas shopping this afternoon and I hope to find somewhere that carries accessories. I sure would like a couple of extra batteries; in summer I spend long days at the softball fields and 2-3 hours of battery life won't cut it.

maybe you could try get a ego or a mod where the battery life can last a whole day of vaping

I just HATE being a spur of the moment purchaser!

Yesterday morning one of the BLU batteries failed and I was not happy! We were at the mall and were talking to the "Smoking Vapor" rep who talked me into his product. (I hope I can return the BLU due to it being faulty). The battery on the Smoking Vapor setup is much better as is the taste of the menthol! I Vaped pretty much constantly for the past 4 hours or so and so far the battery is still strong.

While in town for last minute shopping today I will be stopping by a vape-shop to get some juice.

I too suggest you get an eGO or something affordable like that, as with what you will spend an a few extra starter kits/batteries and per filled cartos over a few months of vaping you could instead have a nice unit and some juices you really like to fill your own. I started the way you have, and only after 5 different starter kits of cig-look-a-likes (at $35 to $50 bucks a pop) did I finally realize that these kind will never have the taste, battery life, and vapor production I needed. So 200 dollars later I ponied up the dough and bought my Provari and accessories, juices, cartomizers...and we'll more than I really needed. You definitely do not need to spend so much, at least not yet and with your intention of only vaping a short while to wean off of nicotine and quit it all together anyway. So yes, eGo or something equivalent, if you can give up on the "looks like a cigarette" inclination that so many new capers have, would be my recommendation.

Happy vaping and congrats!

I made one of those little banners to put on my posts but don't know where to paste the HTML on my profile. Is it a button, banner, or what?

Just to warn you, the banners don't auto update, at least they didn't use to. If I remember correctly it's your signature.

Congrats on quitting smoking and I have to second what CarbonThief said. When I quit, I bought a couple disposables just to see if vaping was something I could get into that would help with quitting. When I realized it was, I did a little research on these boards and then moved into a moderately expensive variable voltage device with replaceable batteries. I bought a kit, an extra battery, a few pre-filled cartomizers and some juices. The pre-filled cartos got me past my learning curve with filling my own cartos and the extra battery meant no downtime. I then moved on to carto tanks and found that to be my perfect delivery mechanism. I can only say if you've found your way here, you've probably found the best vaping resource around. The only better thing would be a friend who could let you try their stuff!
