Hello All,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking on the forum for information and I decided I better finally partake. I started smoking in my early 20s. I was part of a psychobilly band and it just became part of my life and my "style". Time moved on, the band went away. I cleaned up, got married and started working a white collar job. But the smoking stayed. I could never stay quit.
Finally, about a year ago in my early 30s I just grew tired of it. I was tired of not smelling anything, not knowing when I stank, making my wife (who has never smoked) put up with me, etc. Also, my wife's father, a non-smoker, died of lung cancer at a young age. It was time to make a change.
I started out with an EverSmoke cigalike set. It never really took, so I went back to smoking. Finally, a brick and mortar store opened up in our area and a friend of mine told me about it and how it had helped him stay off the cigs. So I went down to the store, plunked down $50 and bought a 2 Ego starter kit. That was it, I finally was able to move away from smoking gritters. My quit date is April 1st, 2013. No analogs since.
Just recently I grew tired of the Ego quirks and wasn't finding it satisfying. They were also heavily used and dying a slow death. So, I have slowly started ramping up my kit, and MAN have I been enjoying vaping again! Now I have the following hardware, and it is constantly growing:
Next up... a ProtoVapor XPV DNA40!
I'm looking forward to hanging out here and continuing to learn. Thanks everyone!
