Hello all,

Ive been in the vaping scene for about 6 months now, running a simple anarchist copper mod with a nautilus mini. Loved it and recently decided to pick up an Aspire CF Mod and Atlantis. I look forward to the introduction of the cotton coils, which if anyone has any information about their release date, I'm all ears. Furthermore, will the Efest 2600mah and 35amp (I know its truly 20) work well with my setup? Thanks for any information and I look forward to joining the helpful community.

With an Atlantis 0.5 ohm coil you will draw about 8.5 amps from your battery. If it's a rewrapped LG HE2 then they support 20 amps continuous discharge. So you're well within the safety limits.

Hopefully a resident battery expert will chime in and link you to Batitudes blog on batteries. My bad for not having it.

Here are Baditudes blog links:

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specification

Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

Hi Alex and welcome to ECF!

Here's another post that might be interesting:
Vaping Battery Safety & Ohms Law Illustrated and explained in very simple terms

If you're going to stick with the stock Atlantis coils, you will be safe. If you want to get into building you own coils, I suggest that you get an ohm meter so that you can be safe and check for shorts before putting them on your mod. Also, the Steam Engine site is very useful when you are learning to build coils (and even after you've gotten some experience).

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!

There is no official release date for Atlantis cotton coil heads. Nobody even knows for sure if they are going to switch to all cotton. But if you already own the Atlantis tank, I suggest you try Eleaf Melo coils--they are all organic cotton and cost about half of what Atlantis fiberglass ones do.

If you don't own the Atlantis but are looking for a sub-ohm tank, Delta II, Kanger Subtank and Melo all come with cotton coil heads and many find them superior to Atlantis.
