Post number one!

My fiancé and I are sharing a Kanger Evod starter kit that came with two of everything. She was a casual smoker who turned to cigarettes in times of stress. I'm a stagehand, so smoking at work was pretty common, but I wouldn't call myself a constant smoker. Suddenly in the past few months many of my coworkers have quit, most of them with the help of e cigs! We're both very glad to have found a healthier alternative, and haven't wanted analogs since we switched. Since we we didn't smoke constantly, we try not to vape constantly, although the newfound convenience and great flavors don't help with that.

To those in Maryland: if Ellicot City isn't too much of a drive for you, there's a B&M there called Vape Dojo. The prices seem competitive, their flavors are excellent (big fan of blue buckaroo, cherry cola and banana nut bread) and the employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. That's where I got all of my gear from. Good atmosphere, and they let you try all their flavors.

My question is, what do you guys do with your attomizers (correct me if I'm using the wrong term here, I mean the tank that contains the juice, coil, wick, etc) like the Evod when not in use, but still full of juice? Should they be stored upright, upside down, or on their side? Does it matter?

Looking forward to being a part of this community!

Welcome to ECF!

A few days of storage in Evod tank wouldn't matter much. However, best practice is to keep them upside down. Reason being, they are "bottom coil" design. The "wick" which delivers the juice to coil is at the bottom of the tank. It is inside the replaceable "atomizer head". if you keep the tank upright, you might get little leak through the center tube.
After storing for the long time, be sure to "prime" the wick before firing. Priming is the process of applying short burst to get the juice flow going and avoid popping the coil.

When you are starting out with new atty (atomizer) head, follow this step
1) with atty head installed, let it sit right side up for few minutes. if you sake the tank, you should be able to see the bubbles come up.
2) you can also take primer puffs without power to let the juice in. don't do it too hard
3) first few firing should be pulsing with quick draws. this basically "warm up" the coil and let the juice burn slowly. try not to inhale these puffs. if you have VV (variable voltage) device, you can start at 3.0 - 3.2v and slowly raise it by .3v increment. If you have fixed voltage (3.7v), just pulse it
4) once you start seeing a good amount of vapor and taste the flavor, you are good to go

These steps will avoid getting "dry hit" and potential "coil pop".
