Today's hearing on SB 648 before the Assembly Committee on Government Operations was canceled just an hour before it was set to begin. Word on the ground is that SB 648 is dead until at least January. Those in California should continue to respond to this Call to Action.

More Info on CASAA.org

A Big thank you to everyone who called, emailed, tweeted and posted on facebook.

Special thanks to all of those who took the time out of their lives to travel to Sacramento and attended the hearings or meet in person with their legislators.

Let's all take a moment to celebrate this victory and realize that if we are UNITED we can prevail.

Then take the renewed energy and confidence this victory brings and FIGHT harder to make sure nothing this silly ever goes this far again!

That's wonderful.

Umm, they wouldn't have pulled it just so that they can sneak it in at a later time, would they?? Not that I'm paranoid or anything...

(Note to self: keep eye on California.)

Anyway, great news!!

Not likely.

It appears they realized they don't have the votes needed to pass it.

Bills are rarely pulled... and lack of votes is the most common reason when they are.

This just in...

Senator Corbett is
withdrawing the bill for this session

Meaning: it's dead. (at least until next year)

She could revive it next year.

But I would think, during an election year... further evidence of eCigarette's safety and efficacy would prevent any such lunacy.

This calls for dancing!!
Thank you so much to CASAA and to CA NORML and Dr. Siegel, Carl Philipps, Drexel, Dr Fosalanos(sp), Bill Godshall, the journalists who were fair, and so many more. A huge thanks to all those who opposed this lunatic bill.

The fight does continue, but for now we can celebrate.

I wish I were an actor. I would dress up as an old old cancer ridden, tubes up the nostrils, wheelchair ridden toad, and say.
"I wish I had of know about vaping when I was in my 20's. I would have quit smoking by switching over to vaping the eCigarette."
Then a kid would come up to me and say....
"But Mom, you are and you did!".
and I would say "oh yeh!!!" then jump up out of the chair, pull out the oxygen tubes, rip off the wig, and old wrinkly person Halloween mask, rip off my nightgown... and do some mighty fine Carlton dancing on my way out of the hospital. :)
