The first Nightmare on Elm Street did it for me...the girl being thrown all over the ceiling coating it with blood freaked me right out ;-) A close second though is Saw4 (I think it was 4) when the doc was operating on Jigsaw's brain and you heard it squishing around when she removed the piece of skull. THAT made me stop eating my waffle fries (covered with ketchup of course):p

1st Nightmare on Elm Street,

Was that the one with Johnny Depp in it? and his character was named Glenn? and he got shredded and liquified and parts of him flew all over the place?

*It's rainin Glenn...hallelujah....*

That be the one! I may be warped, but Freddy's sense of humor cracked me up...especially in Freddy vs Jason. I thought that one was more funny than scary! :)

To Calligal:
Love love loveeee Night of the Living Dead. Zombie movies have ceased to scare me which is why I didn't put them on my initial list, but I am SOOO addicted to them. They're like a second nicotine for me. Whenever a new one comes out I need to watch it. My favorite Zombie flick is Dawn of the Dead (Romero's original), though the new one was good too.

I currently have 30+ zombie movies. I can't help myself... like pokemon or something.

Silent Hill

Just got round to getting the DVD &
could only watch 1/2 of it in the dark.

Really atmospheric sounds, scary stuff.

Most shocking part at 4 mins:

YouTube - Silent Hill Movie: All 3 Pyramid Head Scenes

Exo i can't bring myself to click on that link! i remember that movie...

Not a well constructed movie but so disturbing. The premise of just hearing an air-raid signal go off, and then having YOUR ENTIRE WORLD TRANSFORM INTO SOMEONE'S PERSONAL HELL for the next ten minutes is so freaky. There's nothing you can do about it; even sitting in your own room doesn't make you safe.

Go away for a bit and an awesome thread like this pops up

Love horror and gore movies

My all time scariest movie is “The shinning” love how Kubrick takes things so slow

If you like that kind of slow pacing I recommend “A tale of two sisters

My favorite genre is splatstick “dead alive” and “evil dead 2” top my list

Aliens” was a creepy movie

City of lost Children” has a very nice surrealistic scene with Santa

And “Suicide Club” is a trippy David Lynch kinda J-horror

The “Silent Hill” video games #2&3, are the scariest things I ever experienced, I hated the Silent Hill movie but the inspiration for the games “Jacobs ladder” is one of my all time favorite movies

Not necessarily scary, but just watched Let the Right One In, and was one of the best vampire movies Ive ever seen.

OMG! I just watched that two days ago on Netflix streaming. I LOVED IT! And you just know the older man who was "her" caretaker had fallen in love with her when he was a child.. it pretty much goes full circle. Foreign horror is the BEST.. screw all this twilight crap.
