About 15 minutes ago I heard a loud POP and realized it came from my 801 PT. I quickly unplugged it and unscrewed the still vaping atty from the PT. I thought for sure either the PT or atty had to be TOAST!.
After the atty cooled down, I tried it on my CALM and amazingly it still worked (although it was sucked almost bone dry and had to be refilled.) I then put the atty back on the PT and all is working fine again.
I've had issues with these PTs (2 with same problem) where the circuit occasionally sticks in the on mode and only unplugging it and replugging resets the circuit to get it off again. My only guess is there must be a circuit protector inside the PT that made the loud POP?
That sure woke me up lol
