Let's find out exactly what happened first, before we start people panicking here, every accident I have seen to date has been user error with an ecig when going into thermal runway, not saying it couldn't or cant happen and maybe this accident is a bad Batt, but we have to find out the details first I think, and let's hope the guy is OK first as well.

Looks like he was using some kind of tube mod with stacked 3.0v ( cr123 or rcr123A ) according to the firefighters findings. Not that one batt is safe but can't hurt to do some research before you buy a mod and minimize the risk of it exploding by not stacking or using safer/ protected batts and a few vent holes on the mod. Not assuming anything and wish the guy quick recovery.

Accidents happen and will in the future but it's our responsibly as users to be safe and knowledgable about our devices.
