Well, on a more serious note...:lol:

Haven't been diving since I quit analogs and switched to vaping - but I was wondering too.

Used to smoke before and after dives; on the dive boat when they'd let me (sitting all the way back - so I was also sucking diesel fumes...).

Never had a problem I'm aware of... and generally used the least amount of air of any divers in the group - only a tad more than the divemasters...

Will be interesting to see if anything changes.

FWIW...

Near a beach in a desert.
I am certified and done like 100 dives. I haven't gone the past couple of years though. I was thinking maybe heading to the Keys to do a little this spring. Then again...I might be heading to Cali. If I go to Cali I am going to go to Catalina, some good spots there to dive. :)

My fave place to dive though is definitely Belize! Ever been there?

I just got my PADI open water cert over the summer. One of my reasons for wanting to quit analogs so badly is because I want to be healthier and perhaps dive more efficiently.

I didn't consume a lot of air, no more than any other new diver, and a lot less than some, but to be honest, I did feel as if I could be breathing more efficiently under water.

I live in the NE so unless I travel, diving is out until the summer. By then I'll be more than 6 months analog free and I'm really looking forward to seeing if I notice a difference!

Haven't been diving in 2 years, and have been wondering about how vaping will affect my consumption rate. Hope to be going in March, maybe tho.

Been to Belize twice, and I absolutely LOVE it there! Both times on Ambergris Key, wonderful diving! Yes, the Blue Hole is incredible, that was only my 7th dive EVER! Long boat ride from Ambergris, tho. Second trip to Belize, we spent some time 'in-country' Cave Tubing, and visiting Mayan Ruins at Tikal in Guatemala, also amazing!

Haven't been to Belize - yet...

Covered most of the Beach Boys song - Aruba (my open water and advanced certs were done here - talk about spoiled by great vis), Jamaica, Bahamas, Key Largo - haven't made Bermuda (another 'yet').

Also done all 3 Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Riviera Maya in Mexico, Ft. Lauderdale and my big one - a week long live-a-board on the Great Barrier Reef.:thumbs:

Did a cool land locked one - Bonne Terre Mine in MO - you gotta go 60 feet below ground to get in the water, then it's absolutely perfectly clear fresh water. No overhead environment - no special certs needed. They have the entire place lit with very bright lights - vis like nowhere else. 7 mm wetsuit, hood and gloves required...

Don't know if they have similar in Belize, but Riviera Maya has cenote diving - essentially cavern diving, but no special certs required. Mostly fresh water, but when deep enough, you transistion into salt water. Some overhead, but never more than 150 feet away from a place to surface. Really, really cool...

Hoping to do the Riviera Maya again this spring - I'll report back on my air comsumption... I was a very light air user before, so it'll be interesting to see if that changes. With the pressure and the underwater sights & sounds, I just find it soooo relaxing that I was so calm and relaxed I never used much air.

I earned my Master SCUBA Diver cert in 2000 at Key Largo. Yes, I do love this sport. Just really need a vat of money to do it as much as I would like...

First qualified in 1996 and since dived all round the world. Maldives (a "must" every year), the Red Sea (another annual "must"), Galapagos, Palau, Chuc (Truc), and many Caribean islands. Smoked from 16 for 40 years and I am/was one of the "lucky" ones it never seemed to affect and it certainly never compromised my underwater air consumption.
Gave up in 3 days two years ago when I discovered e-cigs and have not touched an analogue since.
