I'm sure there are at least trace amounts. But, a number of sources I've seen state that when vaping, there is no point in holding a drag in your lungs for more than a second or two because the nicotine is absorbed in that amount of time. I don't know if that's opinion or fact.

Second hand smoke from analogs is considered hazardous not due to its nicotine content, but rather for the smoke & tar (and a few thousand chemicals) it contains.

ok so me vaping in the car with my little ones should be ok?.. GOOD QUESTION skully! thank you!

I do remember reading a post or two about this subject of second-hand vapor but only remember that it is so miniscule that it is almost undetectable. I'm sure that in the future more exacting studies will be done, but until then there really isn't any hard evidence to show either good or bad.

Personally I wouldn't think twice and I would vape all I wanted to in my vehicle with a child inside. I'm pretty sure that it is a lot safer than smoking analogs which most of us grew up with. I understand that now there are places where you cannot smoke in your own car if there are children under the age of 8 (I think) inside.

The day will come when farting in public will be a crime. At least that's where this Politically Correct world is headed!

Honestly when Arkansas passed that law I remembered being a kid and stuck inside a car with a ton of smoke and a Mom who wouldn't crack the window... and yeah, it wasn't pleasant. So I was fairly okay with that law.

However, a friend of mine has a small child, wants to get into vaping, but wants to confirm that it will not break Arkansas law regarding it -- she'd love to be able to at least vape on long car rides! So I wrote our AG to ask if they'd made a ruling on it, and we'll see if I get a response.

With some states saying that e-cigs violate their smoking bans, I figured it'd be better to be safe than sorry.

Well with the data we currently have, yes, it seems so.

As NCC stated, the vapor itself is nothing like smoke. For one, it does its job an awful lot better. PG's job is to bring nicotine to the lungs and it's been used for that same purpose for a couple years now in innalators.
Nicotine has a hard time travelling by itself so once the vapor dissipates, it's volatility is GREATLY reduced.

I'd be GUESSING that unless you puff some MAJOR vapor clouds, no one in your vicinity would absorb enough nicotine/vapes for their body to even realise they did.

With that said, when i vape i simply try to keep the little ones clear of any visible vapor. Considering the speed at which it dissipates compared to smoke, i'd say it's a pretty safe thing to do...most likely not even needed but hey, im paranoid 8-o

Is anybody aware of any studies or evidence on vaping safety around pregnant women? My wife and I are trying, and I didn't smoke around her at all last time she was pregnant am I "out in the cold" on this one again?

I've seen web sites advertise these things to pregnant women to use while pregnant; to me that seems ......ed to have a doctor say to limit caffeine and not take anything stronger than Tylenol, but to use one of these while pregnant?

Well i'm sure there are trace amounts in the 2nd hand vapor but it dissipates so quickly that would would almost have to blow it directly into their face. Also with 2nd hand smoke the dangers aren't in the nicotine but the other chemicals in cigarettes. The main reason 2nd hand smoke is more dangerous than the actual act of smoking is because the slipstream smoke doesn't burn as hot. The smoke from a burning cigarette actually doesn't burn off as many of the chemicals as when it is heated from taking a drag. I don't remember exactly where I read the material and it's been years ago (was researching it because of my kids when making the decision to smoke outside) but it was a pretty reliable source. I'm not a scientist, chemist, or doctor but I know how to research subjects for accurate information when making a decision.

Is there any nicotine in second hand vape?

Almost has to be. If you are not absorbing all of the vapor your not absorbing all of the nic. Just a guess on my part. However if the vapor doesn't touch something how can the nic be absorbed? Not all the vapor can come into contact with lungs and other linings. And on that note.

If you are really worried about it stealth vape. Take shorter drags and hold them till nothing comes out.

I do remember reading some posts about pregnancy and at least one responder did actually say that they also had been trying for quite some time but shortly after either one or both of them started vaping, they became pregnant. Coincidence?

You never know.
