Second full day of vaping VS cigs. Yesterday, I smoked 10 stinkies and vaped the rest of the time after 28 years of smoking... recently 1.5 packs a day. Tonight before I go to bed, I will smoke my 8th stinky (2 less from last night.) even after having cocktails!
I fear that I'm the ...... addict that figures after a stint in rehab, I can have another taste only to fall back into old habits. One thing I have learned is that when vaping, is to mimic the act of smoking. When I need to smoke, I vape outside, I hold it like a cig and treat it as such. Same times, same places. I know I'm getting my fix man, but this seems to good to be true. is it safe to curse the devil (big tobacco) at this point? I'm still smoking a little but tomorrow will be day 3 without buying a pack. I consider that a success.

Cheers!

So glad you are being successful, Lance. I agree with you about trying to mimic some of the mechanics/habits of smoking. In addition to the drug nicotine, I think many of us are hooked into all those little motions and habits that we've done thousands and thousands of times in our years of smoking. I smoked so habitually, that I was not even aware of the the steps that were necessary to get a cigarette in my mouth and light up. It just happened! I'm now forming slightly different new habits with my vaping, and it's working well for me.

eveyone has their own pace, mine was as soon as i got my first setup, my cousin took a year of on and off before finally going to vaping full time.

There's truth!

I had about a 12-hour transition, I've seen some folks post that after a year or two that they still have a cigarette every once in a while.

Keep in mind something you'll see posted here pretty frequently; It's not how many cigarettes you smoke; it's how many you avoid!

Congrats! Nothing wrong with falling off the wagon as long as you get back on right away. I found that after vaping for a while I didn't like the smell of cigarettes, let alone the taste. Of course, I went with chocolate and other yummy flavors right away and I still have no interest at all in tobacco flavors. I DIY my own juice, and if I come across a recipe that looks good but has tobacco flavor in it, I just make it without it. I was smoking almost 2PAD when I quit, there's hope for everyone when it comes to vaping!

Lance, that IS certainly a success! Some of us made an immediate, complete switch to vaping, and others of us (me, too) took a little transition like you. The great thing about vaping is that there is no ONE right way to do it. Less cigarettes in = more healthy. Every day so far, you've smoked less--keep going that way, and before you know it, it's one or two. And one night, you'll go to bed realizing you had NO cigarettes, and you won't even care!

I don't recall exactly when, but at some point I was having a cigarette a couple times a week. Why? I don't know, but one day things changed. That cigarette tasted like the nastiest turd .... chemical burning death. I never wanted one again since. Seriously, two drags made me physically nauseated. Then, I knew I had WON against Big Tobacco.

+1. It's all about how many you avoid...I always tell my vaping frens not to sweat it if they have a cig or two, but think about how many they had avoided since vaping.

Cheers! Don't give up!!!

Don't feel bad having the odd cigarette. It is not a failure and should not be though of as such. I smoked 42 years and 2 packs a day. Over the past 4 or five months I had a few smokes here and there. One every couple days near the end. Over time they tasted worse and worse for me and preferred my Ego-C. I bought an adjustable Mod a week ago (Itaste MVP) and then just never wanted another smoke. I never even told my wife I totally quit smoking till yesterday. You will know when the time is right for you to totally quit. CHEERS!
