Seeking suggestions of online retailers for higher end battery

Hey guys I recently bought an IGO-W and luckily came here to ask questions about using it with an ego battery (thank god i came here and asked and was advised not to and given links to read up on wattages/ohms/etc my local B&M had told me it was ok to use with an ego). Well now i'm in the market for a battery to run the igo-w with but i've only ordered from Mt Baker in the past so I don't have any experience with other retailers and MtBaker doesn't really have that great a selection of batteries. Just looking for some online retailers people here tend to use for these type of things. I'm on a limited budget for my first upgrade so hopefully a retailer and a model under $50 would be truly useful. My local B&M vape shop where I got the Igo-w doesn't carry anything under $90 (or so they just said to me...) and I would really love to put this atomizer to use at long last. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I use an ego style battery all the time with my igo-L and Smok Dripper RDA dripping atomizers. As long as you stay above 1.5 ohms your golden.

By the way as far as flavor goes the Smok Dripper RDA blows away all others i've tried and the best part is that it's 14.5 mm diameter which almost the same size as an ego battery.

Your local B&M was not incorrect. You can use a rebuildable atomizer on an ego IF you have an ohm meter to measure your builds AND you build your coil above 1.5 ohms (the lowest ohm stock coil you can use on your ego toppers). That said, you are not going to get the best vape using an ego with a rebuildable.

Consider an MVP. It is variable voltage/variable wattage battery with built in safety. It will fire a coil down to 0.9ohm. And it's only around $40.00. You would still have to come up with money for an ohm meter ($20.00) and some kanthal, torch, wicking material, etc.

I fired it up with an ego and the performance was horrible man, also ended up frying the coil. I do measure my coil builds before firing them up. Thanks for the suggestion on the Smok Dripper

I considering getting the MVP but have seen mixed reviews on it. The issue with the Ego is the cutoff time so it won't heat up long enough to get a proper puff from plus it was frying my coils. I do have an ohm reader, been had kanthal, wicks, and a torch even before I knew what to do with them. Seems I invested in the wrong things first but hey we all start out as noobs.

:danger: You NEVER fire a coil without checking the resistance using an ohm meter or a DMM. Sounds like you have not done any homework.

I have actually..I learned from here never to do so. My first attempt was going based on the little instruction book without a reader, my second time was with a reader and still had the same result even when my ohms were at 1.8 I do have to say the kanthal it came with was the thinnest Kanthal I have ever seen in my life. I've learned much since i've not built a coil since without testing it on even for my protank mini. The new kanthal i'm using is much better wire.

Sorry, I thought you did not have an ohm meter. The issue was is not EGO (if it is authentic). I have vaped 2.0 ohm coils using a rebuildable with my ego and have had no problems. No need to do it now, but in the beginning that is how I started.

The issue was not your EGO. The issue is that you had all the right tools but didn't know the amp limitation of your battery. What was the ohm of your build?

The ones I had built were all in the 1.9 to 1.8 ohm area, only had one above which was the first one I ever built listening to the manufacturers instructions that one was like 4.8 ohm or something ridiculous like that. Even the 1.8 OHM ones were burning badly, part of it was the loops being uneven, the other reasons i'm unsure. The builds I have now are 1.8 ohm but still don't heat up well.

If you do not purchase a mod with a built-in battery $50 will about cover a good charger and 3 batteries. You will then need to come up with more $$ for a mod.

That's why i'm hoping you folks can give me some ideas on that end as well as a trusty online retailer with good pricing for them. I'd like to stay within budget but have as much built in safety as possible as well.

Here is a good video on building a micro coil: How to build a Micro Coil tutorial

There are some good videos on youtube on how to rebuild coils and all the things you need to look for. I don't have it bookmarked, but if I find it I will edit this post.

No worries susan people here hooked me up with Pbusardo and a few others, they were concerned I was going to blow myself up without an OHM reader. Suffice it to say I ran out the same day and bought one lol. I've since successfully built 1.8's and 2.1's for my Protank mini and my wife's Eleaf tank. I just can't get them to work well on my Igo-w plus the fear of having an ego battery explode on me has really made me rush to buy something more designed to run it.I really haven't been able to quit analogs with clearomizers so Atomizers are my last hope.

I can definitely recommend some good trustworthy online retailers for higher end mods but not within the price range your asking. But I do have a thought, have you checked Fasttech. Com? The prices are amazing. You will have to wait a bit for your item to arrive as it's out of the US but they carry a extensive line of vaping equipment. I've ordered from them before as MANY people on this site also order from them. In fact, im suprised no one's mentioned fasttech yet. Take a look online at what they have to offer aND I'm sure you will find something to meet your needs!

Hey thanks, yeah i've actually checked out fast tech they did have a vamo v5 for like $31 but I was skeptical. The reviews were a mixed bag and people complained that they were fakes. It was the first place I checked after MT Baker.

Just to update this thread I ordered an MVP 2.0, have pretty much worked out how to make a 1.8ohm coil (single). My coils fire up real nicely and burn evenly. Thanks for all your help. Oh and I ordered some other stuff from fasttech..delivery was fast as hell. Faster than some other retailers i've ordered from in the states. Was shocked at how fast, didn't get my mvp from them but will be getting a mech mod from there next.
