I just picked up 2 of these from Eric at DV. Since I am new here I cannot post on his thread yet and I have already e-mailed him too many times with questions. When I first hooked it up on my LT, I had it set at 3v like I do with all my new stuff. When I got it to 3.7, awesome. Now I cannot get them to even come close to vaping right. Either they burn so bad I almost get sick, starting at 3.7v and up or I get no taste and a little vapor at 3.6 and under. These tanks really impressed me at first. I love the larger slots instead of holes in the DC cartos and for the first 3 vapes I thought I was in heaven. What am I doing or what did I do wrong. I have 2 going with different juices in them with the same results.

Hmm...maybe the carto is flooding, does the filler look completely saturated at the top? If so, I would blow it out a little then bump up the voltage on your lavatube...you may just not be burning the juice off fast enough. The dual coil carto in your tank is 1.6 ohms. If you take the calculation Watts=Voltage squared/Resistance you come up with about 8.6 watts, divide that by 2 due to using a dual coil carto and you come up with 4.3 watts per coil. Alot of vapers say that around 8 watts is the "sweet spot" when vaping. I would raise the voltage on your unit to at least 4.5-5v and go from there.

I guess since the holes in these carto's are so large and I am a heavy vaper they might be flooded. I never considered the possibility. My VV Gripper, Vmax and iTaste all said to use 4.2 volts that's why I was freaked when it was burning so bad. I am going to blow them out and empty the tanks and start over. Then I'll get back w/ you tomorrow and let ya know if it worked.

I just got my stuff from DV yesterday. Picked up two of these tanks and the first one had a similar problem, except the carto would spew hot bits of juice out of the drip tip (like a roman candle, it was nuts). Granted, it was my first experience with a tank, but after following seanmc's instruction I was able to desaturate the carto and it seems to be working fine, for now.

This was my guess. Running a dual coil carto at 3 something volts ain't gonna do much but sputter. Need high volts for dual coils. Stick a single coil carto in there and I bet it works.

I am going home now to see if it fixes the problem like aaryck's did. As for Dante's Inf, I hit it at 4.2 like the VV Gripper said and I thought the world was ending it was so bad. It Burned! It took a long time and three Mountain Dews to clean the taste out. So as soon as I hit the sopfa, gonna do what seanmc saiid and aaryck did. I hope it works because that thing hit like a steam train, in a good way when I first hit the button at 4.2.

Oh WELL! Same ole Same ole. Cest La Vie! Did as seanmc suggested, 1st tank - 3rd draw at 4.5as suggested, I now know what the NJ Turnpike tastes like. 2nd tank - started at 3.7, a little vapor. 4.0, now I know what the Cross Bronx Expressway tastes like. Back to cartos with small punched holes, ViVi Novas and the GoGo for a couple of days to fix my burned taste buds. I don't know what I did wrong, but those carto's have left the building.
I honestly appreciate the suggestions you guys gave me. Now I know where to go for help. I vaped for the longest time not going on any sites but the 1st e-cig, Eversmoke, the second an Ego, then I started ordering from China. Started with the Bolt, then Lava from Apollo. THEN I woke up and started surfing the net for higher voltage and kicked myself in the nads because I could have saved a lot of headaches by surfing first and learning from ECF, Eric at Discount Vapers, Battery College and a bunch more cool sites.
Now 24 web sites purchased from for juice, e-cigs and Mods. Now I am a APV Hoarder. If it's new, if it's shiny, if it looks cool, heck, if I don't have it, I buy it. 3.7's = 8, VV's = 11, bottom feeders = 2, different = Sd Key ring, 350mah ego's, Cyclone eGo Variable Pass-Thru Dongle, and whatever I find today. That's not including the EGO's, Twists, C's, T's, W/F1, F3, Halo Element & G6, and the one that could have saved me A LOT of $, the GoGo. If I had picked that one up before I went to Ego, I'd be rich. I read about it on Eric's site and finally broke down and bought it 2 weeks ago. If they were made as available as the Ego, I believe they would outsell Ego systems 2 or 3 to 1. I LOVE the GoGo. The other thing I have fallen in love with is the newer Mods that can give the resistance of the atomizer/cartomizer. I get them mixed up somethimes and now I don't have to get out the multi-meter and wish I had a third hand.
Phew, and I am long winded when I have a few minutes to relax. All I really wanted to do was ask a question and hopefully get closer to 5 posts so I can get involved with a couple of threads here. The ones that I buy stuff from. Little did I know this forum is GREAT and everybody actually wants to help, not criticize anybody that lacks total vape knowledge. I have yet to see one post where someone talks down to anyone. That I like. Some of these forums on the web have turned into the CB radios of the 21st century. A place where idiots can just stir up trouble anonymously.
Thanks again you guys. Especially if you read this whole novel. I only have 2 vaping friends and they are not even in my state so I don't get to talk about this stuff much.
