Sent a letter to the Editor of my local newspaper

I'm with Matod, Maast..... at least you gave it a go. And as you said, it was your first foray into printed media. So, boo boo's were to be expected. But you did something. Much more than others do. Congratulations for having the chutzpah to stand up and speak your mind.

Its was a letter to the editor to a local paper...the writer never claimed to be an expert on the subject, she or he just was stating what they believed to be right. I think the main point of the letter was good.

I believe you are correct, oldgoat...... it was a letter to the editor, hence it would appear in the op-ed section (opinion - editorial). It was his opinion, he wasn't claiming to be an expert in the area, just stating his opinion. And even if his writing style may have not been spot on (I think he said he was an engr.) he made his point. I'll bet he can write circles around most others in the area of technical writing. No reason to be raking him over the coals for expressing his thoughts. That's called censorship. I'm sure after this demeaning thread, he will think twice or just not bother telling the rest of the forum what he did after the way he has been treated here.

Not a problem, no name calling it is. I cant seem to give my opinion on a piece that is clearly unprofessional and poorly thought out.

If you truly feel that it is alright for us to go spread the word about vaping and give false information in the process, then I can contact the editor at the Los Angeles Times, who happens to be my friend and old employer and ask that my misinformed word be given a section in Sundays paper. Is this alright with everyone who enjoys vaping? For me to have first time readers on the topic not have the proper help, fail then complain about the product?

It seems we all had a problem with the infomercials not too long ago that were for electronic cigarettes and how they were portrayed and the false information that was given.


Your free to spread your word, I feel its also my right to give my opinion on anything I feel, in any way I feel.

Wow. The actual very first time I heard about e-cigs was on an Anchorage radio station. Air America was falling apart and I was trying to listen to Randi Rhodes and my office firewall setup was giving me problems and finally i was able to get her streaming from a broadcast station in Anchorage. And Smoke Assassin was a commercial she carried. A cigarette that plugs into your USB port! Now that was a smoke for me.
Needless to say, they never had enough orders to pay for their wholsale shipment, so they never had any actual inventory to ship, nobody got their stuff, and I had to charge back my credit card.
