I received my M16 clone the other day and I have not fired it up since my batteries are not here yet. I was watching a video that showed how you can lock it and unlock by screwing and unscrewing the part by the button. I was fooling around with it to make sure it worked and it did. But now the button sticks out when I have it unlocked. Is that normal.

Yeah, the firing button is (loosely) threaded into the firing pin. Remove the bottom cap, put your nail in the slot in the firing pin, and turn the firing button to your liking.

If you want to stiffen up the threading, apply some teflon tape to the threads of the firing button. If you don't have teflon tape, I heard dental floss works too.
