The Aegis Legend’s batteries are connected in Series. The majority of devices you would be able to tell by the battery orientation. But there are devices such as the Lost Vape Drone whose batteries LOOK to be connected in Parallel, but they are actually wired in Series.

Parallel is an odd choice for regulated mods. The only one I can think of is the DNA 75 Therion. It was limited to 75W, but obviously had longer runtime. I can’t think of another parallel regulated mod but there may well be a few other odd birds out there.

The DNA 75 Vapeman Steam Engine is another dual parallel odd bird.

DNA 75 (and C), both have a min 3 volt operating voltage and a max 4.2 operating voltage. So a dual parallel would work and give extra runtime.

A DNA 250C, in comparison, has a min 6 volt operating voltage. So minimum dual series needed just to meet it’s minimum operating voltage.

But you’re right, dual parallel are rare – I can’t think of any others outside DNA 75(C)

So let's say I want to use a 150w maximum. That would be 150/2= 75. Divided by minimum voltage, 75/3.1=~24. I generally run at 120, but to run at 150 I would need a battery thats at least capable of 25A continues discharge to run at 150?

You’re missing device efficiency from your equation, but yes, 2x 25 amp batteries would be sufficient for 150 watt operation. But I would use a 30amp battery to give yourself a little headroom. Samsung 20S would fit that bill, and in comparison to a higher mAh cell such as the 25 amp Sony VTC5A, you probably wouldn’t notice the difference in run time - at that power level.

Steamtuners 75 watt mod. It was an odd bird alright. I really liked mine but it stopped working one day. I put it away. I should dig it out and see if it turns back on. That happens sometimes. Leather. Brass, that wacky half circle shape. I bet I have a pic I am on my old computer....

That's the Vapeman Steam Engine I mentioned :) ... it's a rather heavy sucker for it's size too.

I have a pair of vtc4's 30a and Orbtronic 3120mah 30- 40 amp (but am reluctant to use those after some research because there are no cell manufacturers who produce that cell). They themselves won't give give me the cell manufacture name...but maybe that's another thread. I was thinking of picking up the Smok Tfv12 could beast for novelty reasons. It has huge coil automizers that use massive wattage, and two different RTA decks. But a two battery mod doesn't really seem efficient or realistic for that application. I would have to pick up a three cell mod?

On a side not about the Sony's, "Murata" as it is now. Be careful purchasing, especially the vtc5. Here's a link why.

VTC4A's are a 25 amp battery. VTC4's are a 23 amp cell. Mooch’s battery tests have proven that Orbtronic overrates their batteries. Given it's size, a 18650 battery cannot have a CDR rating over 30 amps. And as the CDR rating goes up, it's capacity goes down, so 3120 mAh at 30 amps is impossible. Stick to the big names - Sony, Samsung, LG or Molicel

As for the TFV12 – There are better atomizers out there. If looking to chuck clouds with a subohm tank, have a look at Freemax. Wide range of mesh coils that will provide great flavour with great cloud production. With a subohm tank there comes a point of diminishing returns. And Smok has grossly passed that point with their ridiculously claimed 300+ watt coils. And if looking for a RTA, buy a purposely built RTA – many great choices on the market.

There are a very small few 300 watt, 3 cell devices on the market, many of which fall short of their claim. DNA250C would be the best out of all of them, but still has it limitations as to what resistance can achieve 300 watts given its voltage and current limits. Besides, to hit 300 watts with minimal risk you would need a 35 amp cell – again, no such 18650 cell exists. And 3x 21700 cells would make for a pretty large mod. I am unaware of any 3x 21700 regulated mods.

Your link got censored. ECF does not allow links to certain sites. I am going to assume it is in regards to counterfeit batteries. You have to be a smart shopper and buy from trusted sources. Mooch has a recommended list.

Yes, I remember this one, I used to love it, but never did find one. What was it, 2014, maybe '15?

I actually have the mesh pro and am liking it. I'm running the quintuple mesh. Can't find the sextuple anywhere except overseas and dont want to want to pay the shipping. I guess I'll look into a dedicated RTA. The link was to an explanation of the authenticity of the vct4's and the vct5. Apparently these cells are no longer in production. There are more than many counterfeits of these batteries on the market. I'll have to check out Mooches list. I have an Ageis Legand 200w and want to fire between 80 & 150w for my mesh pro and twisted messes 24 pro RDA. I have the vtc4's and the orbtronic which I have no idea what the real specs are. I try to use the vtc4's mostly for my RDA and the orbtronic for my mesh pro.
