Tuesday 10/6 was the last day I smoked what you call an analog. I am smoking the super cigarette model #RN4081. I have been jonesing? the last two days. I am a pack a day smoker and am finding that I can't get the nicotine hit I need. Nor the throat sensation of a nice inhale. Seems like all I do is fill cartridges with e-juice that seems to disappear in one smoke and re-charge batteries. I am not a chain smoker but my worst time is in the morning and in the evening. The evening I can just go to bed and forget it. But the morning? OMG, at work? it's like somebody please kill me. I realize that e-cigs are not like regular cigarettes and I shouldn't try to smoke them as such. But this constant maintaining is really getting to me. I can't enjoy the e-cig for fear of the battery draining, the atomizer not working and the e-juice just drying away. Am I nuts?

Hope you understand what I just posted and hope that someone can explain what's going on here.

What strength juice are you using?

I have been a heavy smoker for over 20 years and I am finding that the 24mg strength is doing it for me (the battery life IS a pain in these things though).

Also are you trying to vape like you smoked (drawing it into your mouth and then inhaling), I found this does not work, you have to inhale directly into your lungs...and in a more drawn out, gentler way.

Hope this is of some help...I expect some of the older hands will be along shortly to sort you out!

Before you give up on e cigs, do a little researching on this forum for a good e-cig, just my .02c:)

1st, what nicotine level are you using? When I first got my 510 I ordered it with Ecopure low and it wasn't enough to stop cravings. I ordered some Dekang at 18mg and have not had a cig since. Second, don't fell compelled to go cold turkey, better to have a couple cigs during the day if the cravings are really bad then scrap the whole process. Lastly, the RN4081 is not widely considered the cutting edge in PV's. I first tried a Smoking Everywhere Gold (your model) in the mall, and the difference between that and the 510 I finally ordered is vast in regards to throat hit and sensation. I also now have a Vapor King (KR808-D1 I believe is the generic) and if your priority is low maintenance, it's about as good as it gets right now. Check out their forum here. Hope this helps, don't give up just yet.

My first week off .... logs I still smoked one first thing in the AM. Lately I am finding a drop of 36mg/ml in the am help keep me from chain smoking first thing in the morning. I was a pack a day smoker, and I kinda chain vape the 18mg/ml stuff. But the 24mg/ml is nice. But please be cautious with the more potent e-juices as you will notice the effects of too much nicotine. By the way I am vaping a 510 and the battery life has been fine for me. Lastly, I remember at first it was kinda weird cuz I could smoke all the time and what worked for me was kinda dedicating myself to vape for 5-10 minutes and lay off for an hour or so. At first I would just hit, another hit a couple minutes later, etc etc until I was all anxious feeling from getting too much nicotine. Just my experiences.

Yup, I'm guessing you need both better equipment and better juice/cartridges. Not as simple as smoking is it? Worth it though, once you find what you like. Don't panic, get your fix from analogs until you figure it out. Once you find the right combo, it should be a snap to get off the analogs. Working properly, the experience should closely resemble the method and results of analogs, i.e., you should not have to do flips and twists to get the taste, hit and vapor you're looking for. Some people are just luckier, or have done the research up front, and got it right away. I was not one of those, it took me a while to find what I like.

Yeah, the maintenance is a bit of a hassle. I have it easier since I switched to RYO a few months ago, so I got used to having to spend some time every day getting stuff ready.

There are lots of things that can make life easier (PCC, big battery mods that last for days, systems with prefilled cartomizers, etc.). And unless you bet large money on yourself to quit, it's not like you can't have an analog now and then when you feel the urge. Heck, if you smoke half a pack every day, that's still a dramatic cutback from a pack a day.

Bear in mind, though, that the analog you're "jonesing" for might not be as satisfying in reality as it was in your imagination (that's what I found when I tried a few analogs after making the switch).

I struggled with using the carts correctly and getting the most out of them,, I made the decission to try dripping (fully understanding I could do it wrong and damage my e cig this way or that way) I really liked not having to deal with the carts and have been dripping ever since. I use the 801 penstyle model type with a manual switch.

Hang in there, it can take some experimenting and tweeking along the way.:)

Your mom said not to say...
There is no substitute for doing your own research on a product. Only you know your habits and what you like. A little research can provide you with a great deal of information. I have said it many times before when people come in here and just ask what E-Cig they should get, they are not asking the right questions, and they don't know enough about them to understand the answers if they don't do a minimum amount of reading anyway. They are setting themselves up to fail or not have a good experience with vaping because they were either too lazy to do some research or did not understand the right questions to ask and the answers given. The members here will bend over backwards to provide the information requested which only adds to the feeling of being overwhelmed with info because they will get 50 answers each with their own particular favorite listed as the BEST CHOICE, we all have done it although I imagine many of us do try to be impartial it's our nature to recommend what we like to others. Enough of the advice, for now just something to keep in mind for the future.

Spot on, around 48 hours in and I've already noticed that I don't feel as "wheezy" as I did a few days ago, and I'm still in a fair state of shock at how damn easy it is to go ....-log free.

Excellent point about not having to sudenly ditch ....-logs though, won't hurt if the guy has a few smokes while he is finding the kit that suits his needs.

Wow!!! Fast response and thank you all very much. You really did answer all my questions and I really feel much better now that I know it's a normal reaction and just not weakness on my part. BTW, I have 30mg nicotine e-juice. Started out with Smoke51, 1/2 kit defective, owner told me he's going to stop selling because of problems and exchanged for the Super Cig RN4081.

I am going to look into the 501. Thanks all for the help. I really appreciate it.

I have a 501 and it took a few adjustments to get it working properly for me. The mods were easy but now I find myself using it exclusively at home when I can drip and connect via usb passthrough. For a grab-it-and-go ecig I use the Vapor King.. I found it to be easier to deal with at work, etc. because I can either get the prefilled carts for it or grab some that I have refilled myself. It is a 2-piece design so you're dealing with a cartomizer and a battery. I do like my 501 but I don't take it to work anymore. And if I am having a really strong nic craving I grab my Chuck and drip some 36mg Hilton.. that seems to take care of it.
Good luck in your search, you will find the right device for your needs it just takes a bit of experimenting and reading on the forum.
