hi. I'm into all my +ohm mtl rtas, like kayfuns and the like. They cost a lot still and I wonder how low in watts can you go with the serpent mini?
Can I still get a satisfying vape at say 1.2/about 14 watts with the serpent mini?
Does it have to be a lung hit or can you close the airflow and mtl with this tank?

Thanks

You can close it down, and I've used builds of ~1 ohm, but probably a little higher wattage to kick it over, high teens maybe? It's been a while since I had it in use, the limited volume just wasn't doing it for me. Otherwise I thought it performed well. Not as restricted as a KF3, maybe a little looser like a KF5 can be?

Thank you Eskie. Cool. I feel so let down by the kayfun 5. A big let down but I just can't bare to take these £100 tanks on a night out so I was looking for something as close as I can get to kayfun lite without the price. Has to be authentic for me.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Edit: obvi the kfun lite only cost 50/60 but by the time svoemesto shipped it it was still close to £70. I'd rather a £20 tank with me if poss

For mtl you have obviously have the KFs. Sounds like the KF5 was too airy for you. The Serpent mini is a good mtl, just not a KF Lite. Same for a Merlin, great tank, terrific deck for a single coil setup, and reasonably tight with the air restrictor in place. Still not as tight at a KF Lite. Also some inconsistency in manufacture, with some having seeping problems, although mine have been bone dry.

Have you ever tried a Squape R? I know the newer Squape X has had a rocky road for mtl users, but the single coil deck is now available so it might be another option. I have not used an X/Dream whatever they're calling it, so I can't speak to airflow on it.

No, not yet. I do want that dream but it feels as though things are changing to the benefit of dl vapes.
Problem being that there is not a discernible difference anymore in terms of anything. I think my palate? is pretty rubbish anyway but every tank coming from wotofo (or similar)is just the same as a high end rta now. Not much point.
I mean it's cool that the majority of vapers are satisfied but having a £100 tank that not everyone enjoyed was somewhat 'special'. Weird I know.
But it's like, supply and demand dictates that the price should be lowered and the majority shouldn't have to pay 100+ for something that has become so popular, but...

Right. The rant is over. Phew. Thanks. I'll buy the serpent.

The good part to these lower priced tanks is if it's a bust, it's not the same pain as say the authentic KF5. THe Serpent mini might very well work out well for you.

There is another possibility I though of. There's a tank "by KA" that's a modular design, essentially build exactly what you want. I don't have it and have no idea how well it ends up working for mtl, but there's a whole thread on it here by-KA*v6: An amazing RTA from Belarus!
