I vape with the torpedo VV at about 4.5 to 4.8 and I am setting up this viva nova v2 tank which comes with a 1.8 and 2.4 along with 2.8 with wick. What should I have in there if I vape at the level I said. I have the 2.4 rt now should I go up or down, I do not want to burn it out. Any help will be great. Why are there 3 sets any way?

I vape my nova from time to time. 3.7v on the 1.8ohm and 4.4-4.5 on the 2.4. I think they give you the different heads so that you can figure which works best with your setup + not everyone uses VV/VW so providing more heads for everyone won't limit the sales of the nova to just one type of vaper. All IMO.

If you don't mind drilling, the flavor production can be improved by drilling the center pin (requires removal) of the bottom section and the head. I used a 5/32 drillbit. The V2 has lateral holes on the center pin inside the shaft of the base. Makes sense to have a direct airflow. The center pin of the head has a teeny-tiny-little hole for airflow in it. I opened that up. If you remove the center pin of the head, be prepared to use new wire to re-coil the thing, as it'd be quite frustrating to try to re-assemble. It's a whole lot easier to trim-off excess wire than to feed the pin back in with that tiny, unsecured wire trying to SNAFU the process.

Also, boil all the parts (unassembled) prior to assembly/use, as there may be residue from manufacturing. Ya don't wanna taste machining oils and gunk in your vapor.

along the same lines, whats the best way to prep the head before use? someone told me to soak it in VG overnight, but beyond that, i have no clue

Unless you want to mod the head, all I have ever done is sort of fluff the ends of the wicks up by rolling them between my fingers, fill it and vape it. Never had a bad taste. They do seem to break in, but it happens for me in about a third of a tank of juice.

I've been vaping the 2.4 ohm head @ 4-4.2v.. anything higher then that I notice thing start to taste a little funny.

I think the nova really shines when you build your own coils and use the anodized body that they sell for them. I need to order a lighter colored one, I got the black and It's hard to see the juice left even under the light.
