I said it before....I feel like I got tossed into the deepend, LoL

I just got an Ego C starter kit last week, and it's okay. I guess. I can only compare it to the Blu. I've been looking at pictures of other people setups, and was wondering.......

-Is there a "BETTER" setup ?

- Would something like a Kanger Protank 1,2, or 3 work on the Ego C (1300 mah) battery, would it be a better vape ?

- I hear people talking about "Dripping", is that a different setup ? The videos I saw it looked like they were vaping out of a big ... socket wrench ?

I guess I'm in this, it's keeping me away from cigarettes.....Thank God ! So should I just save the money, and go big, or work my way up ?

Thanks for any help. I can see this is going to take a while...

Welcome!

There is always a better setup. ;)

Yes, and yes - probably, that is. Tastes differ, and not everything works for everyone. Personally I like my Protanks. What type of clearomizer came with your starter kit? I'm guessing CE4?

A dripping atomizer is just a metal "bucket" with a wick and coil at the bottom, and a small hole for air to get in. As simple as it gets. Because of its simplicity it gives a smoother vape and more intense flavor, but you have to drip liquid in it every few puffs.

Through the day I'm vaping more than I'm not (@18mg's). Is this not good ?

You might want to step down on the nicotine. Depends on how much you want/need. I am down from 24 to 12.

I had an ego-c kit early on; never used those so-called 'tanks' that came with it.

Yes the protanks and just about all other tanks will work on your ego battery.
I recommend miniprotank2.

Don't worry about dripping; if you get into rebuilding coils then you can improvise a dripper to sample eliquid flavors.

Figure out your vape budget: I suggest HALF what you used to spend per month, and put that aside each month to upgrade; what's important is to find something that will keep you off the cigarettes; once you get there, you can look for stuff to save you money in the long run.

1 more question...

When I smoked I would go outside whenever I felt like it. About a pack a day. With vaping I do it inside, and it never goes out, so I just keep going..........Through the day I'm vaping more than I'm not (@18mg's). Is this not good ?

1: that is normal
2: you're going to want to cut down on the nicotine strength if you are vaping alot.

Don't forget to drink lots of water; vaping dehydrates.

My opinion after about 8 months into vaping.

1) Go slow and work your way up. So many variables. A dripper, means that there is no tank, and you drip fluid ever couple of drags. Not my thing, but you can spend a lot of money on it. Flavor and satisfaction depends on the setup, the power, the pg/vg ratio of the juice, the flavor and the mg. Rebuildables, where you coil the wire, and stuff the wick of your choice let you vary vapor production, throat hit, flavor production. But that is a lot of variables to sort out without some experience about what you personally like.

2) Up your nic level. I am vaping 36mg in my current setup. I started at 24mg and was vaping ever other breath. The appropriate level for mg depends on you and your setup. Some setups are more efficient at getting the nic to you. You may also be missing the vapor (smoke) as much as the nicotine. Try upping the vg in your juice.

Stick with the hardware you have, and try to understand it. As you save money, which you will very quickly, you can start exploring other options. This becomes a self funding hobby, and I find it to be fun. But, prove to yourself that you can keep off the cigarettes - which you can do. You can spend a lot of money real fast on stuff that will be more fussy and discouraging at your early stage.

I see the nice ride in your avatar. Imagine adjusting the choke, the carb jetting, swapping out pipes, choosing dual fire or and msd ignition, adjusting air shocks, tire pressure, octane, spark advance, etc every time you get out of your driveway. You can do that with vaping, and not the best way for your early rides. Fuss with your juice, and see where you want to go. And, bookmark this site. There is a freaking ton of people here.

Personally I would start slow , but many people go from an ego straight to a provari or something similar, I have had everything from blu e-cigs to ego ts even had a silver bullet a year and a half ago. Funny for me it was just trying to get off the smokes but it has turned into a money pit which I have happily fallen in to. Whatever you get as long as it keeps you off the real deal is the best set up IMO

You have an okay system. I have an eGo with Protanks, works well enough. Probably the most important thing is to research and learn. I have gained a lot and I still do it.

People will talk about this or that part with totally different opinions. Learning is very helpful.

As was said, find a budget. Use what you have for now. Learning is very helpful.

Go slow and keep your nic level so that it takes care of your needs. Don't worry about how much.

Take your time, learning is very helpful.

All the parts and practices create differences to each individual.

Welcome to ECF. It is a very supportive place. And remember, different things work for different people.

YES, I do miss the (smoke) vapor. I see these videos, and these dudes are fogging up the whole room, and I'm like "That's what I want !" It would probably blow my chest out though, LoL.

Okay, so it's not "go get this....it's the best". More like, "this is what I like".

I'm a kind of a "Gadget" geek. So I see that, and want it & as I'm walking out the door it's "whoa, what's he got ?" LoL
Yeah right now I just NEED something that I can grab, and it works.
I REALLY do appreciate all the help.

Oh Kracker, there are so many just like you here. You will not be able to walk out that door from now on, lol.:)

Kidding, sort of. There are a lot of gadget geeks (no insult intended, my family is full of them) in this forum to lead you astray, I mean along.

Welcome to the forum. I think you have come home.

I'm really liking the eGo-CC tank. To me it tastes the best although not thick clouds of smoke. My friends prefer the Mini Protank II so to each their own.

where'd you get it? ebay? direct from joyetech?

i think it's either plastic on the inside or it has a plastic window?
i like the way the did the airflow.
Should eliminate the hazzard of liquid getting down into batteries.

Yes, it's plastic so no cinnamon flavors - fine by me. I got it at Cignot retail store here in Denver. It never gurgles like my Mini Protank II. Also, I have been using the same coil/wick for 3+ weeks and still going strong.

It's easy to get totally caught up in buying cool new stuff.

My advice? Start slow & work your way up. What you learn on the way will help later on. I equate it to working on VW bugs, then slowly start to work on Porsches. It's steps & you learn stuff at each level.

I've settled on Spinner 1300 batteries and Aspire BDC or Kanger Protanks (my current fave is the Mini Protank 2).

Bottom line: Enjoy!
