This is a solid hefty brute of a mod that is sure to stand up to vigorous handling:
- 140mm Tall (5.5 inches)
- 30mm Wide (1.2 inches)
- Solid stainless weighs 8.4 ounces without battery; 11.3 ounces with battery
The Seven 30 is gravity activated, no touching, no buttons to click for the most part. You click five times to go into settings mode. You then tilt the device. Here's an overview:
- Click 5 times to go into setting mode.
- Setting mode gives you
- System On/Off (to completely turn unit off)
- Wattage Change Mode
- Exit Mode (to leave the settings mode)
- You press the button once to move between these modes then tilt the device to the right or left to change the setting. In wattage mode the longer and deeper you tilt it the faster it will scroll. You can go backwards and forwards in the range of 7-30w. It DOES NOT round robin.
Click the button 3 times and you can go into lock mode where the unit will not fire or change settings accidentally.
According to Pineer4u this unit is not recommended for subohms under .5ohms. Also there are some warnings that the pin connection may need adjusted when attaching some tanks such as the Kanger GIANT, this information was culled from the manufacturer from a vaping forum:
** READ ** 07/10/2014 - There have been several reports, and we have confirmed, that there are issues when using Kanger Aerotank Mega or Giant with this mod. It either reports a "short" or "low resistance" on the LCD read out and does not fire. Please be informed of this before purchasing this item. ** "
So apparently, there is an issue with the 510 positive pin on the Seven30 MOD... a little clarification:
"After investigation on a couple of 7-30's we found the center pin (positive) to be off center. With the Aerotanks series the positive pin (7-30) tends to make contact with the outer post (threads/negative on Aerotank) even if the center pin is a little more than slightly off. If you can really tell that the pin is off center, it will create a short or read as low resistance. It can be corrected, as there is a little movement in the pin, by pushing/forcing the pin back to center. To do this you unscrew the little screw a hair, push it back to center and screw it back in. This issues is primarily dominant with the Aerotank series."
Another great feature is that the device has regulated output. Meaning the voltage will remain stable through the life of the battery.
Important Note: The bottom cap features an adjustable connection pin. Often times you have to take your tumb and forefinger and screw this up and down for your 26650 to make contact and eliminate rattle. If the device doesn't turn on when you insert a battery adjust this.
