Shelf life for JG/PG?

I am on the hunt to maximize my savings on my DIY cause It pretty much cost me double when I started my DIY. My dad now comes over every time he runs low. I have no problem with that but I am not a rich man. It just adds up after a while.

I found flavors for $3 at 2oz
then I found PG and VG for $35 per gallon each.
I dont think I can beat wizards 100mg 500ml for $60

Really I just wonder will this stuff last till it could be used? Does anyone else buy this much for personal use, and if so, how is it stored? Thanks.

Ive read the shelf life of pg or vg with nic is 12-16 months depending on storage. Ideally in amber bottles topped off so little or no oxygen can get in to oxidize it. I dont think plain pg or vg would expire ever but a more veteran diy'er can correct me if Im wrong.

My suggestion would be to do some math and figure out how much you are using now and buy enuff for a six month supply if you are going to buy bulk.

In the baking isle at the grocery store. Its PG based and of course food grade. I tried Root Beer with some FA malt, and it was really close to my all day vape. As soon as I use my old stock I'm trying Strawberry and Banana.

Well if VG and PG is good to store for a few years then I can justify getting it by the gallon. I bought 18 oz of vg at walmart today for around $10. Pretty much the same as WL but less the shipping. So if I want to save the only option is buying by the gallon.

Go the the Proctor & Gamble site and you can get a gallon of VG FREE. Helps to have a friend that has a business that can use VG. Look up what VG is used for. VG & PG can be stored for at least a year and longer if stored in the freezer in airtight glass containers.

Why yes Striker! Some of us do buy that much DIY supplies.
Let's see what the stash reads right now....600ml 80mg VG nic, 5 litres PG, 2 gallons VG, ~80ml various flavour concentrates with another 500ml of regular & super concentrated in the mail......
now that I've listed it out it seems a bit much no?

Stored tightly sealed & topped off in glass bottles PG/VG Nic can last pretty well forever in your freezer. Keep in smaller individual bottles so you only have to pull out one at a time instead of continually dipping into one large stash.

PG & VG stored cool, dark & dry will both keep for years as well. I'm paranoid so i keep em in my freezer too lol.

ALWAYS allow to come to room temp before opening!

Flavours I just store in a (phrase for the day) cool, dark & dry place & not in the fridge since extremes of heat & cold can affect their quality. They never spoil per se but they may lose their "character" eventually & taste.... different. Not bad, just.....different
It varies how long this can take. Less than a year & you should be ok.

I'm curious though.....your grocery store flavours....if they're the regular flavourings used in baking those wouldn't be that strong for our purposes. How much do you use in a mix?!

Striker you can get the PG at a tractor supply for $19.95 a gallon. If you have freezer room, I'd buy more than you need of all of those things before changes come our way. Another way to save is go in on flavor co-ops. I'd be careful with flavorings in the bakery aisle at the store---they have extra chemicals/preservatives in them that might not be the best for vaping.

Nice avy dude. Just stole it. I only have 3 tattoos and 2 are skulls. Other was for my mom so its oddball. Have two more I want and yep its skulls. I want the scene from Ghost Rider where Sam Elliott and Nick where riding in the desert with the mountains in the back ground. That would be awesome.

I only mixed 5ml of RB so far. Went 15% Root Beer with 5% Malted Milk from PA. Was pretty close to my only all day vape. I bought Root Beer from Stormys Vapor Cellar and was hooked. Just need to pin it down. Will try Vanilla in place of malt next time. I won 120ml from Smokscignals. Cant put that down till its gone.

But ya. I dont see why its a bad idea to buy that much then. May just need to wait on a deep freezer though. Ours is always over loaded as it is.

Hey whats been up Shiloh? I was warned about that in another thread but could not find anything negative in the type I bought. I also signed up for a distributor account and shot an email off so I can try to get to the bottom of that. I have yet to hear anything and am trying to wait till I do. Otherwise the 5ml that I used seemed fine. Im still here
