So Cheddar had his first bath, I knew he had fleas but I had no idea of the ticks hiding between his toes. He was pretty good for his bath. I had to slather Vaseline on the ticks and wait until they smothered and pull them out with tweezers. All during this he was wet and soaped up. He did not scratch me at all and seemed to know it was good for him. My daughter helped me because it was a two person job. He is feeling and looking better and sure loves his hammocks. I have a kitty sling, (think baby sling where you where a new momma wears baby in cross body fashion) and he loves to be in that. Socializing going well and he is eating good and trying to lose that bony look of being malnourished.

For Zazie. The reunion was not what I was expecting. They hissed at each other. It is all in the smell, I am told, the recognition thing. Since Cheddar had been bathed he smelled different (thankfully)
Both have had flea medicine put on now. Both are being dewormed currently every day as I cannot get them fattened up if they have worms. The interesting news is Cheddar is a girl and Brie is a boy. Brie is now Colby and Cheddar is still Cheddar. Their last name is Cheese.

A rare golden girl! I'll be sending this one to my mother, who once had a golden girl herself, named--wait for it--Goldie.
Mine was named Jasper; he was my Em's cat. She grieved for weeks after he died.:(

Oh I love that name! Yes 90% of all Ginger cats are boys. Not many people know that Zazie.

I've certainly never run into a calico boy.

Goldie was feral. She started hanging around my parents' house and after a while they began to feed her and then they let her in. She was very shy: I saw her only once, because she always disappeared into that magic dimension to which only cats have the key whenever anyone other than my mother and my father was in the house. Cheddar will probably bring a fond tear to my mother's eye (Goldie died in 2013).

. . . and according to legend, any cat with more than two colors are females. I believe the legend.
yes all Calico's are girls, or any color combo that also has Orange is what I knew to be true. Never thought about in the way of "more then 2 colors' I will have to pay attention to that legend and see if it is true. I always thought it was only if Orange is added into more then two colors

She is tiny too. He yelps every time I take her out of the cage. So protective of her. He loves to be held and is very playful. She is shy and holds back and watches.
    What a good boy.

I hope both brother-sister sets get adopted together.

My littliest foster went for a weekend sleepover. My neighbor wants at least one and maybe both (because she does not want to separate them) so they went to her house to stay for the weekend. She has come over every day to visit them and is just in love.
