We have a pet gate on our bathroom door, to keep the DOG from tearing up the toilet paper. Catdog can’t be bothered with such exertion. This is about as active as she gets (tomorrow is medicated bath day, so excuse her icky fur). The picture woke her up, her is NOT pleased

I’d forget about the gate and fall flat on my face….even sober! The TP attacks happen, but they are not common. Mostly it’s when I mistakenly leave the TP out.

I'm so sorry Terri.

Not even a huge dog person but I missed my son's dogs as they went/are going. Dogs definitely have a presence, that is for sure.

My son's first dog was.... She was INCORRIGEABLE. LOL one time my husband like, brought in dog food and dropped it and it spilled open. He got distracted, then he returned to find she had eaten so much she puked.... And then, she was eating the puke.

We were often known to say "Samantha, stop licking thee plate! The paint is not going to come off!"

She also had this spate of escapes one time and the neighbor brought her back, stating he had an outside dog that was actually NOT a glutton, and could we please keep an eye on her because she was eating all THAT dog's food.

She really liked to eat, that one.
Anna

thank you. Lol dogs are not always angels. Even the best have their days.

God tell me about it right now they are all over because of Toby trying to get the bunnies. He can’t handle them he was good at first but now he’s obsessed and just tries to get at the cage and make their little ears go pinned back like helmets on their heads. That’s why I’ve been working so hard to get them set up outside. All weekend from morning to night I’ve been chainsawing drilling hammering non stop and organizing things even in the pouring rain to get our living situation back to normal.

They will be there today and I think I’ll just bring them in at night when it’s cold and we can’t watch them. But that house is secure now. Even a human would have a hard time getting those bunnies.

The biggest worry is our neighbors cat. It has killed wild bunnies and brought them home before. My old cat once did years ago too, killed a rabbit twice it’s size and threw it around out back for hours. My mom called me at work screaming because of it.

These ones are safe though. I’m making sure of that

My granddaughter and my dog Daphne. I do not allow much face kissing as she has breath that seems to come from the depths of hell (dog not granddaughter HA) but Eliza does not seem to notice.

Aw cute. And so sorry for your loss Terri McVeety sorry haven’t had much time to post.

It’s cute when I put fluffy’s kennel up to bugs and sassy’s cage yesterday I could see bugs and fluffy nose to nose communicating by the looks of it. I figured bugs was saying so my wife sassy tells me you were defiling her and forcing yourself upon her when I was still at the lumber yard?! What’s up with that man?

Should we be getting alarmed for Ricky now that the bunnies have voices? If so we need to get alarmed for me because all my animals have voices too. I always leave one in charge when I leave home. Usually Julie because she is the least apt to cause any ruckus. jules christmas pic.jpg

Don’t know where on this big blue marble you are located, but I am sure there are other predators you would have to worry about other than cats. Toronto is a large metropolis, but we do have foxes (the animal) roaming around that have been known to kill cats and even small dogs. Also a rabbit in a cage would be easy pickings for a raccoon.

I've been making friends with this little girl at work. First time I have seen foxes anywhere. We are in drought at the moment and the bushland around my work is tinder dry and the little creeks/streams have all dried up. I guess they are looking for water and food.

This little one came along a few weeks ago when the fires here in Australia got to be (and still are) a huge problem. She has learned very quickly that I work mostly afternoon shift (1pm to 10pm) and I am the only (living) person on the whole site after dark so I think she feels relatively safe. Naturally I have provided her with water and some food. Now she turns up every night to visit. She is cute as a button

I know she is a wild animal but I can't help but feel for ALL our animals that are suffering through this dreadful summer/fire season we are having. Hopefully once things settle down she will return to the bush full time and live happily there.

(bless their hearts)... We NEVER EVER had problems with toilet paper. EVER. In the 50 something years I've had pets. We did have some issues with Frodo in his young years but NEVER. I'm lucky or the toilet paper is yucky. Here toilet paper is unscented, maybe it's that?
He didn’t start until he was old, he’s never been a chewer. TP is unscented. He only does it when he’s left alone for longer than a shopping run, or I go out of town... I think he’s just expressing his displeasure at my absence. He’s quite the mama’s boy!

Yes, it’s been quite the experience getting used to.... lots of nighttime “whack, *#$%@!!!!” the first month. I’ll catch y’all later, off to get a tooth screwed into my mouth, finally.

I’m on Vancouver Island and yes I’m aware there are other animals it’s just getting cat is closest and is always roaming. But this house is like a regular house and as I said before it’s huilt like Fort Knox. Even a bear would have trouble getting in if by chance one happened to try to get in. Raccoons are probably the next worry they can be nasty buggers but I promised all the bunnies I’d keep them safe and I intend to keep that promise.

Canadian? Good day eh

Bears are pretty powerful creatures, if they want food, they will tear something apart. We had a cottage in Northern Ontario, huge black bear population. Our neighbour thought it would be safe to lock his garbage in his car for a trip to the dump the next day. Bears tore the doors off…how do you explain that to the insurance company.

Raccoons are a natural rabbit predator, if they can catch one. Shouldn’t be a concern if the bunnies are kept indoors. But outside, and unattended – I’d be extra cautious. Just something to keep in mind.

I did exactly what I predicted, mis-set BOTH alarms. The only thing that saved me (I realized later after calling in) is I sent an email to my site saying I MIGHT be late due to lab work so no one was freaking out.

Oh, it will still count against me I am sure. I'll be on a performance improvement plan for sure. I NEED Mr. A. MOST of all he will SET my alarms correctly and then WAKE me (he is an early riser) if something happens. I really find it embarrassing that it will be on my yearly review but MAN.

My new stimulants I hate them. In an hour when I am more coherent, gonna call the doctor's office, It won't matter, but I will call. I bet that was part of the issue,.

Oh well, I plan on a BIG FAT NOTHING today, since I am using up a sick day, besides I DO feel sick.

Apologies to those on the DIY flavor thread, but I am about to tell a story about TP. Etc. LOL.

I didn't even know TP was a THING none of our pets ever went for it, that I can remember. Drinking from the toilet? Totally,. TP? Not interested.

Back when I was young and youthful and newlyish married to the husband we wend on our second honeymoon (first one, had to take the kid, ex was unexpectedly in rehab and mom was travelling.) Mr. A was a good sport about it so I told him we would like, go for our OWN and we did about a year later,

So., .we had this CAMPSITE. I forget where, but it was one of those "you may camp h ere, but don't bother paying us because it sucks so hard." It was swamp, and it was SWARMING with mosquitos. I don't DO mosquitoes they EAT me. I get these huge welts and etc. I asked, I mean MADE the husband set everything up from the car while I waited like a princess bride in the car, dude. (He's Appalachia he took it with fortitude.)

The eventual moment came. I had to go,. There was no holding it; it was happening. So, I ventured as far and as fast from the tent as I COULD, and went about my business. It was pretty dire . Mosquitos, (I could feel them) were swarming my BARE behind. I was fast .I had to be. I sort of buried it hastily, looked at this big rock, and though "maybe I should just shove that on the pile" but I was getting BIT SO BAD I was like, "I t will be fine."

Big Dog, now deceased, the one who had no common sense and killed everything had been happily running about the swamp. We never worried about her because she was about the furthest thing from a runaway you can get. She approached the tent some time later, panting all happy, it appeared she had ROLLED inn something and then to my HORROR I saw TP STREAMERS hanging from he mouth, and she was all like, "Look what I FOUND! Maybe I will eat it, but I want to make sure it's not a gift for someone JUST in CASE,"

I was young and newlyish married, but like, it was SO EMBARRASING,. I mean, I think it was the dog's total JOY that did it, She was like "I have found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!"

My husband thought it was funny actually . He even washed the dog IIRC, which was a tough proposition, given the amount of water we had.

I so hated her that day. LOL.. I really did,

I guess the moral of the story is: don't be a princess if you are taking a poop in the woods pick UP that DARN ROCK and like, be THROUGH,

I suppose it could a been worse, like a bear or something,.

Thanks I’m gonna keep adding to this house and make it extra strong. It’ll be safer than our sliding glass door to our house that’s for sure. I’m thinking of keeping them inside at night during the winter anyways in their kennels.

They love their little hutches I made for them out of those plastic bins. They are like little plastic igloos which will keep them warm . They seem to be having fun. Although my mom phoned and said fluffy had to go In his kennel. He broke down the baby gate I used to separate him away from sassy and bugs this morning. Started doing sassy again and now he’s a in his kennel for being a bad bunny.
