I’m just not sure what the deal is with that. There is no fabric I know of that would make an acceptable barrier. I’ve looked for some sort of reliable information but all I can find are loads of Facebook posts and links to dry websites articles.
I have read that you insert a panty liner inside

Mine are both Brothers. There are some good YouTube videos on all their models. Each is similar, but has its own specific things too.

I inherited my grandmother’s treadle Singer from my mom. Haven’t fiddled with it yet, but that thing could probably sew a truck to a bridge, lol.

The newer Singers just are not made very well.
We bought middle princess a singer when she was in high school. Huge piece of junk. She has my bernina now, which she loves. Yet another sewing machine I failed to make friends with lol. I don’t do much sewing outside of home decor (curtains, pillow covers etc) so my ancient singer does fine for me. I bought it for $10 at an estate sale after I couldn’t get my brother to stop snarling the thread. Daughter comes to visit and offers to figure out the problem. Turns out blunt needles don’t sew so well . I taught myself to sew, so I blame the instructor

My mom's sews & Crochet.. I can do a basic beginner level.. So 1 day I decided to buy one of those embroidery sewing machines.. I jacked it up..paid a repair man and waited.waited.and waited... Ah ha! There she is,, my mom.. Foolish of her to visit me! When she wasn't looking I put that scary crazy obsessed machine in her backseat! 500 miles and 2 days later..mom calls...asking what the ??????... It's yours mom.. Beat it into submission! She loves that evil thing!

I need some of that stuff to keep the belt from slipping. Maybe if I can find a replacement belt for the original treadle, I’ll get one.
Way back in the misty past when I was a machinist, I was told that honey made the best belt dressing. I would't run out and buy a jar, but if I had some in the house, I would try a light coating on the belt. I never tried it, but what the heck.

I bet it would, sticky as it is. I’d be afraid it would draw ants though. Probably not a problem for a workshop, or machines that are constantly running. This this is going to sit. A lot. There’s probably some sort of goo in my garage, I just need to google so I know what I’m looking for lol. I have an impressive collection of various goo products and very little idea what any are used for.

Me and mom picked up this used leather couch and Toby thinks it’s his :) The black one used to be his but now he’s claimed both.

I’m worried he’s not comfy enough with his fur blanket.

I'm a twit. I giggled reading through this post, as I thought you were talking about pantyliners
