It started as a slip of the tongue. Someone in town had a trio of beagles who used to get loose all the time and roam the streets, and on one occasion I or one of my sisters said something like "Here come the bagels." The new name stuck.

Beagle puppies are super cute! We were looking at one before we got Pepper and I was almost ready to spend an insane amount on that one. Luckily I came to my senses first.
