So yesterday while viewing a vape trade page on Facebook I saw someone posted an apollo mech mod clone and a dark horse rda with batteries, wire, and cotton for 60. so I messaged him about it without realizing he was a town over (like an hour both ways) about the dark horse by itself and the wire because I'm looking into the RDA for when I start making my own juice as a tester. He said it'd be 20 by itself but he wanted to make it worth it for me to come out there so after work today I'm going to pick up the dark horse, the wire, the cotton, the mech mod, and the batteries, and he's throwing in a mutation v3 though it's missing the cap...all for 30 bucks.

I'm stoked for learning to build my own could haha. Anybody got any suggestions for either the dark horse or mutation on where to start?

Do you have a way to measure your builds? If not the next purchase for safety would be buy an ohm meter with the $$ you saved. Grats on the score be safe and enjoy.

As luck would have it the top caps interchange on those.

The Mutation v3 is my most favoritest RDA evernessnor!!!

The DH is great as well but doesn't hold much juice. The Mutation holds about a quart.

Can't really help with the builds. Both mine are set to run on boxes so on a mech they would take about 5 minutes to get a little puff. But I don't see why they couldn't be built mild for a mech. The Mutation more so cause that little honey will take anything well.

Ah thanks guys. And the mech is kinda like a freebie with this. I'm not truely going to be able to use that until I have a battery charger but I do have a mvp 3 pro that I was planning on running them on before I played with the mech at all lol.

So I got over zealous with the dark horse looking at everything that when I put it back together I got the deck stuck in the sleeve with the airflow slots and I can't get it out.

I also can't seem to get the deck off the mutation. Any suggestions?

Edit: nevermind I got it off. It was just on there really tightly. More tight then how it came lol.

+1 on the ohm meter. Even with a regulated mod you should still check your builds before you fire them. If you want to use the mech, I would suggest new VTC4 batteries. They are about $6 or $7 about the best CDR rating and will be about the safest bet. Just make sure you get them from a reputable supplier like orbtronic or illumin. The batteries you got with it may be old and as they age, they lose their CDR limit, making them dangerous to use in a mech. Good score though! That was well worth the price. And you got 2 of the better RDA's out there right now.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been being using the MVP as my reader at this point because I don't have one yet. Although that's soon to come. Probably this weekend or next. Anyway I've actually managed to get a couple of builds in the dark horse that worked pretty well besides me wicking too much the first few times. My first build was just a single coil around 1.12 ohm with one airflow closed off but I wasn't digging it too much...so I decided to try a dual coil and the first one I got a .5 build off of and it was decent at about 40 watts but nothing special. I tried my hand at it again today and got right in the .47 range with the dual coils with both airflows open and it worked great up to about 55 watts...until I ran out of my lower strength pineapple liquid haha. I was visiting with my mom earlier whos shown an interest in it and she just looked at me like "how are you getting all that vapor into your chest'' lol.

I had gotten bitten by shinyitus again yesterday though lol. It was my birthday and while I was ordering my coils for my gs-air ms I was looking around at sweet-vapes and decided to get a sub-tank mini, some muji cotton pads to use for wicking, and I ordered a drip tip for the mutation I got. [emoji14] gotta stop myself for now lol. Just gotta get juice and an ohm meter now...and a battery charger...and another mod...it'll just never stop. At least the few two I can get in the next week or two lol.

Congratulations on the score and the progression. Tinkering with builds is one of my favorite things to do and it never ends. Have a couple favorites, but always looking to do more.
