I'm using a Vision eGo CE4+ V2 clearomizer, and in the description (found here) it specifically states:

"It is recommended that you remove the tip and wipe it down for best results, the lubrication oils for machining seem to still be on some of these.

I'm just trying to figure out why this thing has been tasting kind of burny lately. im making sure to saturate the wicks and everything, but i think this may be the case and it honestly worries me. Can someone recommend me what to do in order to get this product tasting great? its producing impeccable vapor, so im pretty sure something isnt "wrong" with it per sey

They do need a break-in period. How long have you been using it. Some people take them apart right away and burn the wicks and coil with a lighter to burn off any excess oil. (it's not toxic). Look under the silicone plug and make sure the coil isn't contacting the silicone and burning that. If it's a LR model, it could just be too hot for the juice you're vaping.

Other than the silicone plug, there's nothing in it that can burn. Go to the Gotvapes forum and ask there. They may have tips about how to throughly clean anything off of it that might be causing the taste. The "Hydrogen Peroxide Queen" will probably suggest you soak it in peroxide.

this is only my second day with it, so i can understand the break in period thing. how do i safely remove the silicon plug or make sure the coil isnt contacting it?

never dy burned or cleaned it. how does one go about this process?

You can probably find more detailed instructions or videos but here is my basic process....

Unscrew the cap.
Pull out the metal nipple and silicone cap with a pair of needle nose pliers or forceps.
flush the tank area and wicks with distilled water via a syringe.
Dry burn the coil by pressing the button on a PV for about 1 second on / 1 second off while blowing on the coil.
You'll hear the coil sizzle as the water is heated out and the wicks dry. Then it will start to 'smoke' as the leftover juice is vaped/burned away. Eventually, you'll see the coil start to glow red. When you can see each individual wrap in the coil, it's probably pretty clean. Pulsing the power and blowing on it will keep it from getting too hot and popping the coil. You want to 'gently' burn away everything but the wire and wick.
Once you can get a quick, smooth red coil, rinse everything again with distilled water. Flush the water through the center tube in both directions to remove and residue from the coil/wick.
Shake to dry as best as possible.
Reinstall the nipple/cap.
Refill. If you refill while the wick is wet, it can take a few minutes of puffing away until it starts vaping again. The best thing to do is put it in a "dry box" for a couple of days.
