OK I am really wondering what I should do here......I have alot of lr cartomizers that I use for individual flavors. I store each carto with the corresponding juice flavor. My question is this.......Should I be cleaning them? I might be mistaken but I thought the reason for cleaning them was to get one flavor out before putting another in. If I only use them for a single flavor isn't boiling them just asking for trouble with the atomizer? I can see cleaning if you have a problem with one.....or just throwing them away they are so cheap but I cannot think of another benefit. Am I missing something? Should I or Shouldn't I?

Thanks:vapor:

I personally just pitch mine when they become clogged or taste bad since they are so cheap. But Ive seen where ppl try to clean them at that point to be able to use them for a while longer. I wouldn't see no other reason to clean them otherwise but I'm not an expert by no means lol. I'm sure someone with more experience will come along soon and let u know if I'm wrong or with more details.

Unless there's a zombie apocalypse, I don't see the need of cleaning an old Carto. I have found that if I stick with one juice per carto, I get a lot of refills. They don't cost enough for me to want to invest the effort into cleaning. I'm lazy like that so I don't knock anyone that does clean them.

I used to clean after 2 weeks but now I just toss them. Usually would get about 1 more week out of them. I think I was just trying to see how far I could push them. Last ones I cleaned I soaked in PGA and then blew out with PGA and then dried with an Oral Med Dispenser. As for damaging the carto with boiling water the juices are water based/ steam based so boiling in water wouldn't make much difference IMHO.

Edit: I have cleaned a few and kept them just in case I did run out.

I do clean mine and this is how I protect my atomizer when I am doing it. When I boil them, instead of just putting them directly on the bottom of the pot where it would get direct heat I use a metal strainer to keep them off the bottom. When I dry them in the oven I place them on a cookie sheet atomizer end up so that the atomizer is not in direct contact with the hot surface of the cooking sheet. Some flavors are gonna stick in there and if that is one of the flavors I usually chuck those after use. Also if the filling is burnt I chuck. Usually just clean once then after second use I chuck. Nothing beats a fresh carto though but its nice to get a second use out of them, and sometimes they turn out almost like new. I usualy boil them 2-3 times for 15 min increments. Important to blow out thoroughly before drying in oven or on counter.

I never clean a carto. I keep putting the same juice or a compatible flavor in a carto until it doesn't work well any more than I toss it. Cleaning will not get baked on gunk off the coil. And cleaning can have inconsistent results and since I use cartomizers for that consistent new-PV feel over and over, I don't want inconsistency. Only my favorite juices of suitable thinness and clearness get cartos. I have a few thicker flavors or ones I vape rarely that I vape occasionally at home by dripping them on an atomizer on a sealed manual battery.
