Should I pull the plug on mechanicals and drippers?

So. I'm new to vaping. I'm trying my hand in some coil builds and I got to thinking, this seems pretty cool. I recently had to take apart my MVP, and thought "do I really wanna deal with this again if my other mods go out. This time was a simple O ring but next time might be worse"

I was looking at a nemesis and a patriot or a trident. Thoughts?

Well you could always keep a few kick modules and fuses.
Modularity and simplicity will keep you up and running.

Course you could just get a P-i.

FYI:

"Pull the plug" is something you do to turn something off. Let's say someone is on a life support machine: "It's time we pull the plug."

"Pull the trigger" is the phrase I believe you're after.

LOL :D

Mechanicals are great. They are vaping simplicity, yet incredibly modular and durable at the same time. Just beware that they rely on your knowledge to use them safely and get the best out of them.

I don't use anything other than mechanicals these days. There is a trade-off with battery voltage gradually dying off, but I find it completely acceptable in the experience, especially with my preferred type of set-up.

And again... I'm making a habit out of posting this video for the beginner. I don't agree/support everything said in this video, but it is a good thorough run-down on mechanicals in general none-the-less. It's also a lot easier to post this video than type the same general advice over and over and over and over again. :p

Lol. Yeah. I realized I messed up after I hit submit. ;) I'll take a look at the video. I was just wondering if I should get another mod or maybe try a mech + dripper.

What went wrong with your MVP that you had to tear it down?

First off. I LOVE the quote. Secondly, it was my O ring around the 510. I kept tightening down my tanks like a noob and eventually I had a loose connection. Shorted out my Kayfun in the process. Not a fun time.

any good mech clone will solve that problem for you with the adjustable positive post, the kick will help alot if youre wanting to stay 1.5ohms+ with constant current, but with my kayfun i run .9ohms as my ADV and just running off battery power works great

on a side note how do you still use a protank if you have a kayfun? after a week of using a kayfun all day and a trident at home i cant stand the draw on anything else where protanks were great before

the mech+ trident RDA is the best for me. I just set up a kayfun lite with a .8ohm micro coil. its ok, its no trident but not bad by any means.

I was given a zmax a few weeks back and have only used it a few times. drains batteries pretty fast and figured if im getting the same run time might as well use the device I like more, which is the sentinel m16 clone and trident :)

Is it easy to change flavors on a Reo? I might get one of them, but I'm not sure if it is easy to change flavors?

Easy, like newplague says: it's just a matter of switching bottles really.

Sometimes when I get free tiny 3ml bottles of liquids to try, I just drip into my RM2 like it wasn't even a bottom feeder.

If you get an LP Grand, you could treat it like a regular mech and put whatever RDA/RTA on top of it anyways. Using your Reo with a certain flavor, but wish to vape what's currently in your Kayfun for a bit? Just screw the Kayfun on and ignore the bottle in your Reo. Kind of like a mechanical MVP at that point right? lol

I own a couple of mechs that I enjoy... My copper Nemesis is stunningly gorgeous with it's changing patina. My Hammer clone is a fun little guy, I really love the way it fits in the hand and sets down so solidly and easily. But none of these stand up to what my Reo's bring to the table. Everything else is for a collection, the Reo's are the true all day, everyday vaping machines.

If you like mechanicals and are on the fence about a Reo for some reason, don't be. Bottom feeding an RDA all day long really spoils it for the vast majority of other vaping products out there.

So easy! Particulary when it's similar flavors, I won't even bother to change out the wick or blow out the tube.

I prefer the REO's with 3 ml bottles, because I do like to change flavors about every 3 mls, so all my REO's are either 14500 (original mini - no longer made, but sold at times on the classies - though I do know that Rob is considering a small run of this style again (I asked), because so many of us love them and 14500 Woodvils) or the 18490's (mini 2.0, mini 2.1 and 18490 Woodvils). I carry two batteries with me and a spare 3 ml bottle of juice and I'm good to go all day at work.

Seriously - if I don't blow out the atty and change the wick, flavor change is just a matter of unscrewing one bottle and screwing on the other.

If I want to change the wick and blow out the feeder tube - it's another 2 minutes tops.

I, like many others who received their first REO's, realized that nothing else we'd tried before touches them. The Provari in my signature hasn't been touched and will be removed when I sell it to a friend of mine who wants it. My Kamry is used for taste testing new juices to make sure they're ready before I commit 3 mls to one of the REO's.

Think of it this way with REO's - every squonk (how you deliver juice from the bottle to the atty) is fresh juice, vs juice that sits in a tank and cooks while you vape what's in it, or even vs your standard RBA/RDA which most people have about 10-15 drops of fluid, all cooking on the coil.

REO's deliver fresh juice every squonk. What's excess feeds back into the bottle, and doesn't get "cooked".

For myself and many others, bottom feeders just deliver the best possible flavor, and really, ease of use and least amount of fiddling of any other system.

I would love to try some of the new mods coming out, but I know that I'd have to find an acceptable topper (that was never a fun part of vaping for me, and yes, I had KFL+), and straight dripping other than for taste testing lost its appeal for me, once I had onboard juice. So there's not much that appeals to me about non bottom fed devices. I've been spoiled to any other delivery system.

And I had the MVP2, and sold it within 2 weeks, it didn't stand a chance against my REO's for performance and flavor.

Yep, Reo juice changing is a simple bottle swap (and maybe wick switch, if you need/wish). And like Funk Dracula says, you can put a regular RDA on top of an LP (Low Profile) Grand. See the black one in my picture (with the door off)? I run that as a dedicated "top" dripping only device (I removed the feed tube and store my dripping bottle in the body). Or you can just drip a sampler from the top on the standard bottom feeding topper, too, if you wish.

I'd been running a regular Chinese clone mech tube and RDA prior to my Reos. These do SO much more, and are worth every penny, if you're thinking of going mechanical.

The Kayfun is so huge that I fill it up and just vape that flavor. Plus I dong have a needle filler right now and filling through the side kinda sucks without one. I still like my PT2 because its easier to just pull apart and fill. I use both every day.

Love my mech mods but can't imagine not having a vv too for my tanks. I really don't enjoy vaping any of my tanks on a mech mod unless using a kick. I love them both, why do you have to give one up to have the other.

This is America dang it! Vape an ego twist, a vamo, a nemesis clone, a provari, a Reo, a DNA 20, a DNA 30, and a Duke all in a row! Why not?
