Should I upgrade from my VAMO?

I have a VAMO v5, and have always been content with VAMOs.

I've owned 2 VAMO (I think v2s) in the past, and they took a lot of abuse (frequent .... vaping, dropping from a roof of a house, a car going 70mph, dropping in a river, etc) before breaking.

I'm getting more into rba tanks and drippers, I really enjoy my Paradigm MAGMA clone, and was exited to try my Taifun GT out today. I made my first cotton coil for my Taifun, and it came out at 1.1 ohms. I tried to dry burn and prime it, but my VAMO just said 1.1 ohms, which I already knew and was satisfied with, but after further research I learned that the VAMO won't even try to vape anything under 1.2 ohms :(

I had already trimmed the wire, so I made another coil at 1.0 ohms, and then another at 1.1 ohms again.. Now I'm out of wire, and my VAMO has let me down.

Why can't the VAMO handle an atomizer at 1.1 ohms?
What makes sub-ohm vaping so good? Why not just crank up the watts/volts?
Any tips on how can I widen the gap between not enough vapor and burnt taste?

Thanks for your honesty!
