Hi!
I'm new here and in vaping so please help out.

So I got the Evic VTC mini and i'm thinking of switching to drippers because one of my friends said that you get more cloud and flavor when it comes to drippers. And i want to experiments on coil/wicking building instead of just using a cl head and a tank.

So my question is is a dripper good for my vtc or not ? If yes what kind of dripper should i get ?
I'm new to vaping so please.
Thank You ...

I use a Stumpy clone on my eVic VTC mini. It's built with a single parallel .5 ohm kanthal coil. Vaping at 35 watts. I've only used the Mini in power mode so far but it's great. I'll try it out with TC when I get the proper wire for it.

And, welcome to ecf... you'll find all the help you need right here. :)

Hello and Welcome.

I would first ask if you are unhappy with the flavor and or clouds you currently have now? Or is this simply wanting to try new/different things? Your mod can handle a dripper just fine.

I am not sure what tank you are current using now, but it would be cheap to try an RBA if one is available to try building on. Not that drippers have to be pricey. Drippers need to be fed, and often, are you sure this fits in with the way you vape now? Granted you could easily use a dripper at home during downtime, but they may be more of a challenge to use on the go for some.

I do not really use drippers anymore, I am sure someone will be along to give you some recommendations, perhaps @suprtrkr will chime in, I would trust his opinion a lot here.

Well thank you for the reply.
I'm currently using the tank that came with the VTC Mini. And i just really want to try new things instead of just using a tank. So I will have the knowledge to build a coil and how to wick instead of just using disposable atomizer head.

Well, let's see..........yes the Evic VTC mini could be used with a "dripper".....but at the wattages usually seen when going for clouds + flavor, your battery life will be a good bit shortened(depending on how much you use it). For a first time dripper, I would suggest that you stay away from RDAs that have air feed under the coils......until you get used to them. Nothing worse then leaking a half a milliliter of ejuice into your mod. An easy one to build on is the Velocity. It's a 2 post design so more room for working. Things I would recommend. Youtube. Lots of videos on building RDAs. A good ohm meter(a good solid one should run you less then $20). Read up on "Ohm's Law"....kinda dry but well worth the effort and can save you from blowing/venting a battery. For wire, I would start out with Kanthal A-1. It's simple and the least prone to magnifying any errors. Also, you can usually get 6 feet from a vape shop for a couple bucks. I would get 22, 24, 26, and 28 ga. You'll need something to coil your coils on. You can get a nifty coiler rig that has post that go from 1mm to 3mm(1/8") in .5mm increments. I went that route, but most of my coils are 3mm(easier to wick) so I use a philips head screwdriver with a 1/8" shaft. As for cotton for wicking( I would not use anything else for myself).....the main thing I would recommend is to stay away from the japan cotton pads. Not because there is anything wrong with them, but for a first time they can be a bugger to work with. If you find that your evic is not lasting long enough(battery life)........there are many good quality, 18650 parallel box mods under $50. One thing to look for is a "MOSFET" type build. My first box mod was a Tesla Invader V2. It fires down to .1ohms, has a small control board with 3 MOSFETS that protect against back wards battery, low battery and under .1ohms. And yes I've tested all three functions. This may seem a little intimidating, but once you get started it gets simplier very fast. Oh, and something that is valuable for establishing base lines to start working from are vape calculators. When I do any big change like wire gauge or if it's been awhile since I looked at them I go to "Steam Engine" or "Coil Toy".............but there are others out there as well as apps for a smartphone.

Anyways.......that's my $3.75 worth. Have fun! I certainly do..........

Joytech carries what they call a CLR head, the R stands for rebuild-able. You would still use the tank, but you could rebuild the coil, and wick.

I only asked because we often get people here asking things, because they heard something somewhere, and they think oh hey that's great. The reality at times is they have been told something that is absolutely not for them, and the person that told them so is either clueless, or simply did no stop and take the time to ask a few questions before giving advise more suited to you. I wouldn't recommend a super bike to someone that never even rode a bicycle and the same things apply to vaping.

I any case if you simply want to try new things, then by all means do so :)

I just wanted to ensure you knew you had other options, and had some clue as to what dripping is really about before spending money on it and only realizing afterwards it might not be for you.

While you could build coils on a dripper at lower ohms for bigger clouds etc, imho the most flavor will be had from higher ohm coils, or coils at low power. Yes, good flavor and big clouds are possible, the thing is flavor is not the same between most people so while it is very easy to say coil build x gives huge clouds, not everyone will agree on the flavor. This is where personal trial comes into play. It is also entirely ok to build higher ohm coils just for flavor chasing.

As long as you know you will have to carry a bottle of juice around with a dripper at all times, my mission is complete.

If you have the Ego One Mega that usually comes with the mod then you can get the CLR heads that can be rebuilt and/or rewicked. You'll get a much better vape with them than the stock coils.

If you get an RDA I think you'd be happy with the Stumpy. Get a clone for less than ten dollars and try it out. It's super easy to build on with the two post design. A 1 or 1.2 ohm coil will give great flavor and use lots less battery. I just prefer a lower build. Try it out with different builds and see what you like. You're not going to lose any money to speak of by trying it. I've used the CLR heads and the Stumpy. Both good for different reasons. Tank for on the go (although I find that I take the dripper with me more and more lately) and dripper for home use. The CLR heads are a bit more difficult to build on because they're so tiny but otherwise pretty simple and you can buy five of them for around ten dollars.

The only limits your evic vtc would have are it can only go to 75w, and it only holds a single battery. Having said that it is entirely possible to get huge clouds and good flavor at 30 watts or below.

I honestly do not think any battery that claims 40a is sustained 40a, probably not even burst 40a. There are a lot of misleading/fake/lying batteries out there.

One of the better batteries around I have in my 75w mod is this one: Sony VTC5 2600MAH 30A Battery

If the question you are actually trying to ask was "what mod is on the cheap side, but has a lot of battery capacity so I can blow huge clouds on all day with no matter what I build on it" then I would point in the direction of this mod: Reuleaux RX200 - Wismec Electronics Co.,Ltd

But honestly just start with a dripper first, see if you like that. Then if you find your mod cannot go as high as you would like, or the battery is not lasting long enough, then consider another mod.

So what kinds of build should i use ?
whatever you want lols, I'd just be worried about rampup and the battery draining pretty quick at those low ohms on a single battery..

Don't forget the vtc mini has bypass mode which makes it sort of like a mechanical mod but a bit safer.

Yes a dripper would work great on the Evic VTC MINI.

I used drippers for a while but much prefer RTAs.

My RTAs

Goblin Mini
Silverplay Nano

Have flavor just as good as most drippers and better than many. The ONLY DRIPPER to beat my RTAs is the Darang.

If you are a cloud chaser get a dripper. Because they have more airflow to cool the coil in high watts.

If you are a flavor chaser I suggest an RTA.

Agree 200%!

I say let the cloud chasers have their 200 watt mods with .15 ohm coils.

I like my builds .8-1 ohm and vaping at 15 watts or less. That works for me and with my high VG JUICES I can blow bigger clouds thsn someone using a .5 ohm coil at 40 watts on 50/50 juice.

The OP should build for a vspe that satisfies his cravings instead of trying to blow clouds.
