Greets. Finally took the advice of a friend and put down analogs and started vaping. Using a V2 cigalike for the portability and its what was available locally when I made the switch.

Several times now I've caught myself lighter in hand trying to light my battery tip. I was telling my friend about it and he showed me one where he'd actually melted the tip. He says several others he knows still do it. I frequently find myself with a lighter in my pocket and no reason to be carrying it.

Must be true that old habits die the hardest.

Naaa, for me the weights all wrong to forget about.
My problem is having moved almost exclusively to vaping I have friends who like 'normal' cigs & I find it hard to resist a lapse back on occasion....but they don't taste nice to start with so at least that kind of puts me off (this is coming from someone who really liked his cigs & was a 20 - 40 a day guy & who had stopped completely for 10yrs).

No but I have seen pictures of some charred melted ecigs from other people who accidentally did. My fear was that I would throw the ecig out the car window or into the toilet when done vaping.

I only carried cigs and lighter briefly as a security blanket once I started vaping. I found it necessary to move the cigs/lighter to the other side pocket (not their usual pocket) to keep myself from grabbing for the cigs or the lighter. Then I moved them to a plastic bag in the trunk of the car - still close but not on me. Once I had backups for everything, chargers at home and work, and spare parts, I tossed the cigs & lighter.

I melted the tips of two cigalikes in the first week after I quit smoking. Both times, it was that first vape in the morning where I was still half asleep and just running on auto-pilot. Now I've stopped trying to light the batteries, but I've started forgetting to put the top of the RDA back on after dripping in some new juice. A burnt lip and hot juice splattered in my mouth is usually the result...
