That was my thought too. I'm not even sure the nail polish would effectively stick to the contact paper. I'm hoping that if I don't like how it turns out or it doesn't hold up that I can just peel it off. My only concern is that the sticky stuff from the contact paper gets left on my battery.

For the record, I have used clear nail polish on my stainless eGo, not liked it, and used nail polish remover to take it back off. Doesn't seem to have negatively affected it

(I also tape off the button/connection area before doing any of these things)

I just worry about nail polish longevity. My nails chip within a day. I gave up on pretty nails after having kids. I can't help but think a lot of handling would chip it off.

I have an Ego battery that I painted with red glitter polish a year ago and there isn't a chip in it. I did 2 coats of polish and 1 coat of clear. It has been banged around and kept in a cup with other batteries. I just looked it over to be sure and there isn't a single chip.

vaping Dirty Horchata (yumminess!) from Vapor Girl with a Love Bunny tip. They were out of purple, but I'll be stalking for one to match my insane little set up here. LOL. Wrap by Jwrap on my Zmax mini.

scratched another eGo :-( Gave the one that was wire wrapped (sans wrap) to my husband to loan to a friend at work to try it out. I don't think I'm getting it back. Then scratched up my other red ego somehow, so... duct tape to the rescue! Now it matches my gear box since this is the same duct tape I used to cover the top of my too-manly tackle box. And if you're wondering about the mini protank... I LOVE it. Convenience of a stardust, durability of a protank. Yummy! My daughter says it doesn't count as being craft since I just coated it in tape...

Super cute! This may be a stupid question but does the duct tape come off OK? I'm looking for a way to do this so I can change it when I want a new look.

Great work, every one. To weigh in on a few of the questions, nail polish usually works pretty well, but if you want to remove it, acetone will likely ruin any pre-painted finish. In other words, safe to do on stainless steel, chrome, un-anodized aluminum only. However, you've always got the option to use a wrap, so particularly if your original finish is getting scratched, or you're not using an expensive mod because it's ugly (DB), I say go for it. As to duct tape, I haven't seen it cause any problems, and any adhesive residue can be removed with plain ole rubbing alcohol.

Now, to show off my latest:

Sigelei Zmax mini (from SJ's last co-op), Unique Tank (from our Catcat), Bedazzle frosted tube. The "wrap" is clear contact paper I ran through the laser color copier at work, using an image I found online & altered a bit (to avoid any copyright infringement). I don't think the ink is going to hold up, but will continue to experiment & post my findings here.

I used nail polish and nail stickers on my eGo. So far it's held up pretty good and hasn't chipped. I know some of the other gals use a coating that cures under a UV light, but I've been spending too much money on vape gear to get it.
Here's my eGo painted with a Color Club Halo Hue.

This is so pretty, that's some very neat work you did there:)

Cooking oil is great for removing stubborn residual adhesive if alcohol doesn't get it all. Also, I just tried testing some acetone (nail polish remover) on one of my black Twists that has that cushiony black stuff on it. I don't know if nail polish would stick well to it but I just checked and the acetone doesn't melt the black stuff like is does with some plastic.

Your ZMAX mini looks fabulous all dolled up. I always turn a bright shade of envious green whenever I see Unique/Bedazzle tanks. Sadly, I'm one of the "lucky" ones that can taste the polyfill in cartos so I have to content myself with oohing and ahhing over others' beauties. :(

The ink wore off pretty quickly for me when I used waterproof inkjet printable vinyl. I've since used the clear vinyl I got in a Papillo vinyl sample pack which works perfectly to protect the printed image. I've also used the laminate stuff they sell at office supply places to protect the card stock I used to cover the cigar boxes I use for juice storage but haven't tried it on a PV yet.

I've not ordered from them yet but I've seen Expressions Vinyl recommended on two or three electronic cutting machine forums. They sell vinyl by the sheet. Search for laminate for if you want to try something to protect your lovely ZMAX wrap.

Looks craft-like to me! Your daughter probably doesn't know how to be a critic, just critical.
Tell her that the first thing you do is say "I like it!"
Second say at least two things you like about it
Third. Stop talking at that point.

Oh, yes I almost forgot to tell you that I like it!
Love how you got those diamond shapes orientated and your choice in colored tape.
