I've been using some cheap syringes. I discard after a few batches because the readings on the side just wore off. I've been thinking of getting some proper and more accurate mixing/measuring stuff. So, what are you guys using?
My syringes are covered in tape, but weighing is the best method for accuracy and drops the worst.
Well as I don't have access to an room that can keep a constant temp and humidity all year knowing how to measure drops consistently doesn't help me and since you need to use a pipet or a specific dropper to keep consistency even close there is no advantage over using a syringe and still makes using weight the easiest and most precise way to measure....need to get a decent scale.Drops are only bad if you don't know how to measure them consistently.
Hey Clark where did you find those?Got tired of plastic syringe marks coming off so I broke down and bought some high quality glass syringes. So far they are lasting as well as all my other glassware. Really adds to the "mad scientist" look of my desk.
I know you are gonna think this is a bit strange ... I use drops
When you accurately determine how many drops are in 1ml using the same size and style droppers (ex: 25 drops).
You can easily create recipes using even the smallest accurate percentages ... such as 0.5% of a flavour.
With this method, you can also transfer recipes into any size batch you want using percentages and syringes.
