I bought a smok SID earlier this year as a cheap beater mod, and unfortunately the 510 connector has gone way downhill. Every time I want to use it now I have to first pry up the connector slightly with a flathead screwdriver. If I don't do that, I get the low load message "9.9 ohms."

Is there anything permanent I can do to fix it, or is this thing going to take a nap in my trash can?

I've read that people get around this by permanently leaving an airflow controller screwed on, and I have some of the new Kanger ones. However, that means I can never throw something on it down the road like an HH357, nautilus, or whatever.

I use the drip well ring as a locking ring. I screw a Vivi Nova onto mine until I just feel the center pin make contact. This is well before the Vivi is "seated", so from there, I unscrew the top ring of the Sid and it "locks" the Vivi and ring together. In this way, the center pin doesn't get pushed too far in, but the tank is still rock solid. Been doing this for about a year now, and no center pin problems.
