I just purchased a SID yesterday and noticed along the top and/or the bottom if the screen there are horizontal lines that appear while in use. No big deal. So then I swapped out my battery for a fresh one and now some of the pixels seem dead but only on the main menu. I can change the wattage and the dead ones start working again. Back to the main menu and they're still dead. Tried different batts, power it down, power it up, etc. minor annoyance thus far but I'd hate to find it totally dead one day. Any ideas on quick fixes?

Either take it or send it back. I got one and haven't been real happy with it especially the threads. Sorry no quick fixes.
At least its somewhere close by and you don't have to wait weeks for shipping back and forth.
