Hello! I am totally new here, and haven't even started vaping yet...but I am so glad I found this site before spending my first $ on it!!!! That being said, I am on total info overload LOL.

I have pretty much narrowed down my decision on which pv to purchase to a Halo, a Joye, or a Bloog Maxx thingey, (i should also consider an Envy because they are sold locally) and I know for sure I want a manual battery, AND I want to do my own refills w/flavored juice. And I know I want one of those charger box thingeys that's portable. I would also like to order extra supplies when I order a kit, and that's where the brakes go screeching....

Please, would someone tell me this: what parts do I need to order extra to go with my ecig besides some juice?? Do I need blank cartomizers if I plan to juice, or something else? Is one of my narrowed down choices listed above generally better (easier, etc) for a total newbie like me? Is there anything you wish you had ordered w/your kit that you could give me advice on?? I'm sure I have tons and tons more questions, but that's all I can think of at the present :p

Thanks in advance for y'all's help!

Sincerely,

Confused in Kentucky:blush:

Welcome to ECF busyleigh,

As mlinky said depends on how your going to vape and which device your going to use. But a couple of extra atties, a couple of extra carts or carto's is a good start, thats what I started with. I have the eGo and a bigger battery 900mAh was my second purchase besides going nuts trying all the different flavors lol.

As I said, I have never used an ecig, but I plan to switch from analogs. I smoke about a pack a day, give (no or take) about 1/4 of pack of Marl lights (or mediums if they're on sale). I have been smoking for 20 years. I didn't realize Halo had more than color choices, this is the starter kit I will get if I go w/Halo: Advanced Starter Kit - Element - 3 Piece - Black
This is the starter kit I will get if I go w/the maxx thingey: nevermind, they all come with auto batteries and I wanna start w/manual LOL--the Envy, I have no idea what the model is because I called the local tobacco store and the young girl that answered was annoyed that I requested the brand names they carry (they sell mostly discount cigarettes)...I am open to suggestions about a Joye, as in whether to go with an ego or 510 (basically I don't understand the difference between them even after reading reviews LOL) and which would be easier for what I want to do with it! Oh, and I do suspect I will be vaping throughout the day, same as I smoke! Thanks y'all for your super quick replies!! I really appreciate any help and or advice y'all give me! This process is like trying to find the perfect cell phone, every single one of them claims to be the best, and they're all the same but very, very different!!!! LOL

I do not have any experience with the Halo products, but to me, this looks like a pretty good starter kit. It appears to be a 510 unit, which is one of the most popular e-cig models today. You are getting a sampler pack of flavors (the taste change from regular smokes may be the hardest thing to get used to at first.).
The only two things I might suggest in addition would be a PCC (Personal Charging Case), which you already mentioned and maybe a couple more atty's (atomizers).
You are already way ahead of me when I started, you found this wonderful site full of great people with loads of knowledge and experience!
Good luck with your purchase and happy vaping!

The 510 has a smaller battery, which means less capacity for storing energy. The eGo has a larger battery, with more energy storing capacity, resulting in a much longer run time. Depending on use, some people can go all day on the standard 650mah battery that comes with the eGo. I usually get around 5 hours with the eGo. Everything that works with the 510 works with the eGo, except the charger, and I think that will work, except it takes a lot longer to charge the eGo battery. Lots of stuff out there for the 510/eGo. There are clones out there, and the Riva seems to be the most popular.

The only difference I have found between the 510 and eGo is the battery. If memory serves the 510 has a 280 mah battery and the eGo comes standard with a 650 mah battery, with an option for a 900 mah battery. In simple terms, the eGo has about double the battery capacity that the 510 base model has with the option to go to 3X.

Being a recent eGo buyer I have to say I LOVE IT! I do recommend the mega whistle tip carts or cartos not sure why I like the so much better than the standard ones, I think it has something to do witht he fact that the oral sensation for me seems closer to an analog. I am currently using the mega cartos as i bought a five pack, but regardless of what you get, a carrying case is a necessity. I found a diabetic supply case that is just right for me, but there are many different ideas on the forums about carrying and storing your gear.

The Halo kit looks overpriced for a 510 until you throw in the 7 sample juices. Pretty average with those, but it's still just a 510 kit with a 180mah battery. The Bloog (as far as I know) is a kr808d-1 kit that is way overpriced. The 808s are better because they have the 280mah battery. From everything you mentioned in your OP, you could save a little bit of money by checking out some other sites that have better prices. This is the first one I looked at Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate Ultimatum Starter Kit. It has everything you mentioned plus a passthru. They also are running a sale that ends today. 28.88% off orders over $50 using code: juicecarts1 and 20% off orders under $50 using code: juicecarts2

That's just one quick supplier I checked. You can probably find even better deals out there.

The vapor4life codes are, I believe, just relative to juice and carto portions.

In the 808s, I've been happy with vapor4life, NHaler, and vaporsetc, all have 10 - 15% standard discount coupon codes. For a pack a day person, if you order standard size batteries I'd strongly suggest a kit with a PCC (personal charging case), so you can swap/recharge batteries during the day, else a kit which uses XL or Mega batteries.

In the 510 arena, at pack a day give or take the Riva 510 kits are pretty nice, particularly if you have already settled on a manual battery and doing your own juice filling. These kits have 2 750 mAh batteries, which run a long time between recharging. They run $30 a kit after the 20% discount (posted on their site). I'm a cartomizer fan, like the boge 2 ohm 510 cartos, which fit a Riva fine.

Undoubtedly the Halo kits are fine, too, and their juice is popular. Depending on their HW price you might split the order, HW from liberty, juice from Halo. (liberty shipping is cheap).

Good luck!

According to the Envy website, the Envy Bliss is the "world's smallest electronic cigarette." If so, it probably is the DSE084. I'm sure it is is no more than 90 mAh. You will spend more time charging that teeny tiny battery than vaping the e-cig. And for a one-battery kit, it is way over-priced. I do not recommend it ... or any super-mini. That 84 mm size works very well for an analog (tobacco) cigarette, but not for an electronic cigarette.

The Halo Element appears to be the 510 model (which is manufactured by several companies, including Joye). This model is a very good e-cig and immensely popular among ECF members (although not as much as it was last year). At 180 mAh, it needs to be recharged frequently, although not as often as that Envy model. You can get it for less money elsewhere. The kit in your link is a combo package of the e-cig kit and their e-liquid sampler. Halo e-liquid is very well thought of here on ECF and I would not hesitate to get the $25 Sample Pack, but probably not the e-cig kit.

By "Joye," you probably mean the Joye 510: the original (and most would say best) 510. You can get a full kit for around $35 from such suppliers as Cignot and Liberty-Flights. MadVapes sells the version made by Boge, also well respective, for a little bit less. With the 510 model, I recommend manual batteries.

Bloog's MaxX Fusion is a brand new version of the Kr8 two-piece model, also quite popular ... and the simplest, most convenient e-cig. Also, it has a 320 mAh battery, almost twice as much as the 510. I've been reading some very good things about this MaxX Fusion version, especially the quality of its cartomizers. [FYI: 'Cartomizer' is an integrated cartridge and atomizer.] There are many other excellent suppliers of the Kr8 two-piece model, e.g., those listed in my comparative review of the Kr8 and Joye 510. With the Kr8 model, I recommend automatic batteries.

With either the 510 or the Kr8, you would want a PCC (personal charging case) to charge one of your batteries while vaping the other, even when you are out and about. LiteCigUSA has a very good price ($15) on the Kr8 PCC. Volcanoecigs has a great price (also $15) on a 510 PCC: their MAGMA Carrying Case Charger.

However, I recommend that a new vaper give very serious consideration to a fat batt (i.e., eGO-type), which has a much longer-lasting battery: minimum 650 mAh. [For example, I replaced the 510 with the fat batt in the updated version of that comparative review.] With these you would not need a PCC. Depending on the model you get, these can be used with either the 510 atomizer or Kr8 cartomizer. [NOTE: There also are cartomizers for the 510, but not nearly as many flavor choices in prefilled cartos.]

The least expensive (good quality) 510-compatible fat batt at the moment is the 750 mAh Riva, sold by Liberty-Flights for $30, ("LITE BUNDLE" using the "ecf" discount code). The least expensive Kr8-compatible model is the 750 mAh Elegant, sold by CigEasy for $60 ... although I think their $50 one-battery 1300 mAh XXL Elegant is even more impressive.

Fat batts like these are described in my eGOs and Rivas, Hellos, Oh My! article.

Get yourself a 510 Riva starter kit from Liberty Flights. 2 batts, 2 attys, fast charger, cone, mains plug and 10 empty carts $30. That way you can try it with minimal Investment just in case u don't like it. If you do like it then great. You have yourself a nice little starter kit and all ya need is some juice. The 750 mAh batts should be sufficient but if you find yourself needing more, get an ego xl batt. 900mAh !!!! Just my 2 cents.

I started with KR8 rebrand that I picked up from the local smoke shop - does a pretty good job compared to some of the horror stories I have heard about such purchases. When I decided that I was ready to take vaping seriously, I ordered a Joye 510 kit,a drip tip, 5 blank carts, a PCC, and an extra battery from vaporkings.com all for under $100.00, and that includes shipping. I couldn't be more pleased with the customer service, and the product will arrive via USPS priority mail today. I'll let you know about once I take it for a spin. On a side note, shipping was blazing fast - I only placed my order for this on Monday.

WOW, thanks everyone! I think I am going to go w/ the Vapor King kit shown here: Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate Ultimatum Starter Kit and a couple of 5 packs of sampler cartomizers (I think I'll start with the cartomizers, then try juicing them myself after I get started!). I will update everyone when I get all set up :)

Thanks again,

The Ninja Crime-fighter of the day (my quick wits caused a theft ring to get caught today w/about $10,000 of stolen merchandise when I got their license plate and car make and model after they nearly knocked me down running out of a Best Buy store today!)
