Just got my new sigelei 19 copper edition today, and after 2.5hrs I still can't get the button mechanism disassembled. I swear they must have welded the button to the magnetic firing post. Is anybody else having the same trouble? I have a silver Sig. 19, and I was able to disassemble it's button within a few seconds of taking it out of it's box. The button on this new copper turd has me so frustrated and angry that I wish I never would have purchased it.

Yep. It's glued. Trying to get mine apart. There's another thread around here about it. What do you do to it ounce you get it apart to make it fire all the time?

on my silver #19 I filed down a metal washer and pressed it into the top of the cap, just under the delrin. The firing post slides through the washer with very little gap. Just enough to slide freely but yet always make contact. Haven't had a single misfire since doing that.

Thanks. I just got a 19b. Will love it once it works right. Soaked over night in acetone ( nail polish remover ) will try boiling water next. Then if I have to I'll cut a slot in the magnet with a dremel tool and use a screw driver. I want this to work right my rsst looks great on it.
I'll vouch for that. Ever since I slapped a rsst on this thing I've yet to take it off.
I just took a fingernail file and filed down the delrin. It fires all the time now. I may still try to take it apart to cut down the spring to get it to push easier.

i made a few diagrams detailing the switch problem, from causing a "hot button" to the occasional electrical zap. It also shows how the misfires occur. I also have one showing how to make the cap have better conductivity if you bought the 19b cap (the one with the magnet) from parts from the stock cap (also how to make the stock cap better). Also have one that shows how to solve the misfire issue in detail with a very simple fix. I can post it if you guys are interested.
Ive done nothing but lightly sand the contacts in my 19, the thing never misfires or fails to fire. Maybe im lucky.
I got my 19 Copper yesterday and it is working good so far without any modifying.
My 19 Copper is on its way as of yestreday... hope I'm as lucky as you when it gets here.
