I am trying to decide between these two mods for my first mechanical. I have read and researched a bit and I understand the sigelei has issues, but it sounds like the 19 b seems somewhat improved. I prefer the looks and bottom firing button of that, but I don't want to be disappointed by its performance. The storm looks decent and seems to be well received but I need someone to talk me out of the 19 b. I will be using an RSST on it that just won't work well with my current set up. (VAMO) I think my VAMO is on the fritz and won't get the coils to fire up and a mechanical seems to be the next step anyway. Please help in this decision!

I wish the K100 didn't have such a different look to it. I like something a bit understated but it sounds like a slam dunk. I did read on Kamry's site that the fastech site is selling knock off's which surprised me someone was cloning already affordable mods. I think Kamry must be upset that someone is selling them for such a good price!

I really like the looks of the 19b much more, but with all the work it needs to function properly I can't bring myself to order one. The KTS on the other hand seems to work really well out the box and is dirt cheap, less than $20 bucks shipped from some places. Plus the flat top doesn't look too bad, but it just seems really cheap quality. The sig 19 can definitely take much more of a beating.

i agree i don't think they are fakes cloning a clone doesn't seems worth it. they probably just had sales drop once fasttech got a hold of a few so they are spreading the rumor haha but iv held a real one and used it and my fasttech one should be here soon so we will see XD

You shouldn't be too disappointed in your choice ;-)

I have both. The KTS is one of the originals without the flat top. It needed to have the contacts sanded down a bit to remove the chrome and then it worked like a champ. The only bad part about it was the chrome wears off eventually.

The 19b was ordered with both top caps. It worked out of the box but I've "improved" it by making the switch fully magnetic instead of spring operated. I use the nzonic head mostly because it's heavier. I've ground both heads down a bit to make my RBAs fit flush and added a modified washer to the switch cup to decrease the throw (because I'm really too lazy to bush the button that extra mm or two).

You may want to check out this thread - some of the earlier postings are no longer relevant because Sigelei has addressed the issues:

I have a kts and segelei #8, and did some quick tinkering with both. Removed the springs on both, but drilled the negative contact stem of the kts a little bigger and hammered in a copper nail, and then sanded the chrome off of the contact points. My kts out performs my segelei a lot. I am not done tinkering with my #8 yet though.

........ was shedding some light on this topic and basically said a lot of vendors were upset that fasttech and other sites were undercutting their "recommended" IE demanded pricing model and so they decided to burn them by lying about authentic stock.
