In a haze of vapor

I just got mine today from vaportek. Its pretty unique. The positive connector is kind of short and some of my rbas dont fit. The ring is removable as is the top chromed cap. Airflow holes are built in if youre into flat tops. Let me know if you have any other questions.

It's going to be my beater rig. Hits hard all gold spings button feels good. I feel like sigelei is Improving.

I picked one up because I thought it would be a good beater, too, and the price was right. It is very heavy and solidly built. I haven't played with it too much yet. First thing I did was to remove the little ring with the crampo/key chain, which can always be put back on. I like the way it looks and feels it is heavier and more solid than the 19b and 20 that I have, and seems to be built for durability. Time will tell, but it seems like a decent unit for the price. Looking forward to seeing reviews and modified versions.

I was very close to buying one of these lastnight. I'm looking forward to more input from owners too.

My biggest questions are:

Any misfires? if so, why do you think it happened?
Voltage drop?
Post connections--- + and - battery sides...any concerns?
Button feel? Mushy? did it break in some has to be held very firmly?

Well I guess I was wrong. I did get the unit to fire that one time immediately after testing the same atomizer on my cronus.

It did hit well.

When I went to fire it after the button felt crunchy, got super hot and the button came unattched spring flying and everything. I can see that the button is threaded on and has some kind of locking mechanism.

I contacted John but haven't heard back yet, was too busy at work to get to him sooner. I suppose I got a bad unit as I've had my share of issues with my 20 dollar mechs and my 200 dollar plus devices.

I STILL think this is a good mod and worth the money, but I want a verified good unit before I make any further input.

The reason mine looks different is because the collar for lanyard attachments is off. It's also colored. I will report back with my outcome with vaportek.

I have high hopes for both the vendor and the device even though my switch assembly melted down.

Wish me luck.

I can't comment on the button issues other than the first fire seemed fine. Felt like my original #20. The voltage drop I can't test but it felt to me to be withing acceptable ranges after my first go round.

Every connection spring that I can see is brass/copper. Nothing but the button on the switch and the accents are chromed. I can see that the switch pin is also brass/copper and is threaded onto the device and I suspect that part wasnt locked together or was loose from the factory or shipping which caused my problem.

I have tried to rescrew the button on but the switch immediately fires because the spring is still missing so I decided I would just remove the battery and put it back in the box and wait for the retailer to replace.

i had a few misfires in the beginning, but i think it was more my fault than the mod. i took it apart and forgot how to put it back together, dropped a few pieces, and finally got it back together. it's heavy, sturdy, and good looking. for the price, i'd say grab one to play around with if you're looking for a cheap mech to beat up. i've just ordered a second one... because i'm crazy, and they had the locking ring and clamp available in silver.

I just received a model 19, a Carvella clone, and a model 24 yesterday, from Vaportec. My only other mech is a K100, so I don't have much experience with them. They all have AW18350's and they all seem to be very well made. Between the 3 of them, the #24 seems to give the best vape. This might be because it feels like I'm getting a better connection with the side button. Still getting used to the bottom buttons. I'm using 505's for flavor testing which makes the whole unit very compact. It fits so well in your hand, and there's no comparison to the ego's I've been using. After using them both, I thought the ego's were broken.

Keep in mind my lack of experience with mechs and this was only day one. So far, I'm quite impressed. I hope that reliability isn't going to be an issue.

ha! i bought a second one. they're so inexpensive and really solidly built, i couldn't resist. i am not crazy about the keyring thingamabob, so i took it off both of mine. i haven't tried it with a kick or anything like that to up the wattage, but i've been using it with a diver in a phiniac tank, and i'm really enjoying it. i wish vaportek and exhale would stop selling so many shiny, inexpensive sigeleis and clones, though! i'm going broke slowly but surely. i got a brass 19 in the mail today that i cannot for the LIFE of me remember ordering, but so be it. it's my first brass colored mod, so it sticks out like a sore thumb in my collection... for now, at least. god knows what else is on the way. my name is scott, and i'm a modaholic.

maybe we should start a buyer support group thread or something...

Has anyone managed to figure out how to take off the button?

Well I've had my #24 for a month or so now, and you cannot get at that button in there, it's sealed in there. You can take out the screws and clean the ends of them, which I've found needs done now and then. I've also used a Q-tip stick with alcohol on it to go in there and clean the cone that makes contact with the screws, and this seems to remedy the misfires. The 24 was my first mech, and I'm not entirely unhappy with it, but after experiencing button issues and misfires with it I ordered a Sentinel just to have a backup mech.
