fastech do sell smurfs the blue samsung 25r s and also the newer stock green samsung 25r s. I'm in the uk like you and don't get my batteries any where else. Good quality pushed a married pair to 120 watts and I still have a face.

Not in UK, I'm afraid. If I were, I wouldn't be so picky about few quid here and there... :) I'm from Latvia. That also makes ordering from UK a PITA, because most shops offer free shipping only within UK. So instead of paying extra 20 something euros for the mod itself, I'd have to pay for shipping, which would be free, if ordering from Asia. :)

While this is somewhat off-topic... is there anything that makes the Samsungs better than, say, Sony, Panasonic, or LG? Thanks!

Right behind you...
Just want to point out, if it hasn't been already, that Sigelei and Pioneer4You are both owned by the SAME parent company. So choosing one over the other isn't "sticking it to the man" if you dislike one of those brands.

And I damn sure trust Yihi boards over boards of unknown provenance, in terms of safety, reliability, features and accuracy.

And I'd also be wary of the Koopor, at least for the first few production runs, because, well, Smok makes it. Upside is, the firmware can be updated by the end-user.

@Croak
Thanks! Was aware of that, but nice of you to point it out anyway. What confuses me a little bit, is the fact that difference sources make different claims as to which chip does the Sig 75W have. Some sources say that it runs on an in-house chip made by Sigelei(or a modified version of "some other chip"), some that it runs on same chip as D2 (SX130H), while some claim it shares the SX330 of IPV V4? For the first ever mod, I guess I could care less, but still... want to be more or less sure I get the "best" mod within my price-range. As for Smok as manufacturer being seen a con, when it comes to mods, aye, I've read that too... the price of Koopor though, especially considering the fact that D2 is pretty much on pre-order everywhere and Sig 75 almost twice the price... eh, I don't know, that's a pretty good argument.

Right, well, it time to make something for dinner and then I can start reading up on that Koopor, so I actually know what the reviews say... :)

Thanks everyone!

I'm glad I found this thread. I've been agonizing over which mod to get and have been going back between the Sig 75w TC and one of the Pioneer4You mods. I corresponded with Michael at Asmodus as I knew they did warranty service for Pioneer and Sigelei and were no longer providing service for Pioneer4You. Of course they recommended the Snow Wolf 200 (their version, whatever that means) but also recommended the SW 50w.

Of course you get into the issue of TC mods and wire compatibility. I don't think the Sigelei mods work with both Nickel and Titanium. I know the Joye tech e Vic-VT 60W allegedly works the both Ni and Ti in TC mode as well as Kanthal in regular mode. Supposedly the IPV4S also works with Ti.

I’m just foolishly trying to “future proof” the whole situation too much, but I’ve got “researcher’s personality disorder”.

Now if I can find a comprehensive thread on choosing the right tank…

Hi there!

The Siegelei will not work with Ti, which is one of the cons when comparing it with IPV D2. In this price range/form factor (60 - 75W, single cell and under $60) I think only D2 and the newcommer - Koopor Mini - can do both Ni and Ti.
Then again, I don't own either, haven't even vaped yet, heh... so take what I say with a grain of salt. I've spent the last two, three days looking for a tank and a mod and have watched a few reviews and read more than a few... :)

I'm with you on the "researcher's personality disorder" though. Whenever I have to buy a new phone, speakers, computer, etc... it takes a week or reading as the absolute minimum, haha!

Dirk oberhaus release a review today about the Sigelei and he was not excited at all about the accuracy. It was pretty bad. Unfortunately the review is in German. He does pretty good reviews with lots of measurements. A bit more than pbusardo.

So... would it be far fetched to assume that it indeed doesn't run on the same YiHi chip as D2 does?
Eh, shame that my Germam is terribad, although I guess I'll watch it anyway, in the best case scenario, I might find a familiar word every now and then! :D

I have a D2 in the mail for this reason. It does Ti and the Sigelei does not. I've had a number of very nice Sigs in the past, but this one doesn't have a feature I am not negotiable on, Ti mode.
Time will tell, buy my Mini M has a Yihi chip and it's great. This just runs an 'economy' model of that chip, less features.

Pretty much any tc mod will work with titanium, you just have to adjust the temperature (around 80-100f lower than with ni200, at least on dna40-type devices). A growing number of tc mods (e.g. Evic VT, IPV4, IPV D2, dna200, Smok Cube II, Koopor Mini) have a dedicated titanium mode where you don't need to offset the temperature.

I love the idea of future proofing. The ipvd2 is awsome but not future proofed all the other ipv's have a usb slot for updates wich I think is future proofing I'd recommend the ipv4s but not the ipv4. Read a lot of naughty things about the older device. I was put firmly in my place by a fella yesterday when I was saying the only bad thing was the charge port and other than that it's flawless. Then he linked me into his thread where it explained how his ipv4 basically almost exploded and it had nothing to do with the charge port. But the good definitely out weighs the bad. So hopefully they fixed all the issues with the new S version IMHO it's gotta be one of the best mods you can buy for that kinda money. Good luck and one more thing I can guarantee that it won't be the only device you buy especially if you suffer from shinnyitus like the rest of us[emoji15] [emoji15] [emoji15]

Well, I caved in today and ordered the Koopor Mini.
Couldn't say no... the price was amazing, D2 was out of stock pretty much everywhere (who had a decent price and would ship to EU), so I figured why not.
Now I just need to find a tank. That, I guess, is for another topic and not this one... unless, of course, someone here uses Zephyrus by Joude. :)
