Somebody must have jinxed me because my mod broke. When you push the button to vape it's sticks in and won't shut off . so it is now officially retired. I got approximately 15 or 14 months out of it. Nothing lasts forever. So I guess this is just a factor of buying a new mod every year? I knew it was going to die I just didn't know when. This is just a lesson to always have a spare tire.
I'm glad I had back up. I have 2 backups
Now on vaping a wiesmec single battery does anybody know how to unstick a button?.

If you had a leak sometime, then there may be a build up of old and sticky juice on the button. Try taking it apart and cleaning up any old juice in the mod, especially around the button, and see if that helps. Also check for any dirt or debris that may be in there.

No I'm just going to let it rest in peace I beat the snot out of it. I got to tell you I'm pretty impressed to get 15 months out of the same mod every single day. I'm not too sure if I'm going to like this one battery mod. I really like the longer life with two batteries.

I actually prefer single battery mods because usually that means the battery device is more pocket-friendly and more comfortable to hold in the hand. The below single battery mod lasts me nearly all day with a Samsung 30Q 3000mah 15A battery vaping at 30 watts.

I don't mind carrying a spare, charged battery in a plastic battery case if that means my battery device is going to be smaller. This case takes up hardly any room in a pocket or purse.

15 months of heavy use with no significant maintenance is pretty good. IMO it doesn't owe you anything now :). I've got a Pico 75 that has gone to work with me daily for about that length of time, but I've taken it apart once and given it a good clean. That did involve soldering.

The way I see it you can go for a more expensive mod that can hopefully take more of a beating (do your research on this one), or you can cut your losses with a less costly one that you consider more disposable. One thing I also keep in mind is that vape technology advances pretty quickly so a mod you really like today might not be so desirable tomorrow.

Here's the one I got

Best of luck with it :thumb:

My one major complaint about the Kaos is how badly the top is fitted to the body.
One drop and the fixing gave way.
Some models have 4 screws holding the top . Alas not mine.
    Here's a pic , show y'all what I'm talkin' 'bout.

So any spills end up with juice in the mod.
Kinda dribbles out the fire button.
    Time for an upgrade.
Can't choose between a bullet proof 2 battery or a squonk mod.
    Ho hum !

Yup, they're tough enough for the price we pay for them :)

I see from the small gap between the top plate and the body on the battery side that you've probably dropped yours once or twice. My old one is like that for that reason. The next time I take it apart I'm going to try carefully bending it back to straight. I've also had the torx screws come loose once which seems to mess up the electronics, probably because it affects the ground between parts.

I've got three of then now and thinking of ordering a fourth. Mine are all SS, but seeing how well your black one is holding up I might go for that next. Do you know if the black is a coating or is it plastic?

I don't have a Kaos, but from reviews I gather there are two allen screws holding the left side of the top plate in place. Is that correct? And what do you mean by 'the fixing gave way'?

Yeah dropped it about a dozen times lol. The black is a coating. I'll have to remember the torx screw grounding, if I ever decide to open her up for a cleaning.

Thanks Kickingthesticks. In that case I'll stick to the SS version.

The only downside about disassembly is you have to unsolder a wire to get it apart and then re-solder it for assembly. Easy to do if you are comfortable with soldering though.

Some of the Kaos have 4 screws, mine has as you say 2 on the top plate just above the fire button. They are hidden by the name plate "Spectrum ".
On the other end mine should be held in place by a tab that locks into the body.
I've not dismantled it but I'm guessing that tab has broken off.
I need to get a set of mini Allen keys .
My local b&m has the same model but with 4 screws, one on each corner .
This would imply they recognised a weakness and improved the design .

I understand now Upinsmoke, thanks for the clarification. BTW, I had a better look at the screw heads up close from a pic online and I'm pretty sure they are torx heads. That was from one that has four screws, so yours is not necessarily the same.

    Best of luck with it!
