Ps, have movement disorder, head and hands shake, does this get easier with time?

Bought some evods, some juice taste better in iclear 30 top coil, some tastes better in bottom coil. Was using dark juice purchased at b&m, southern comfort vapes, peppermint patty, 50/50, 6mg. The coil wasn't coming clean, decided to just dry burn and re wick the flavor wicks. Run around with head cut off (figuratively), can't find sharp scissors, etc.

But get down to it, keep coil (from the evod, originally read 2.7, replacements sent free were 2.5) in the evod base, pull out piece with pliers (hands can't do, tried very hard), remove flavor wicks. They are brown, and burning them with lighter doesn't clean them up (actually turn black). Take iclear 30 wicks (bad coil, never read), have the joy of figuring out the best way to cut the pieces and put in flavor slot. My dry burn of origianl coil is successful, and I make sure the grommet is still in paper towel.

Get the wicks in after much trial and error (would prefer to cut to size, but those bad boys like to unravel, maybe they need a little burning? Will revisit you tube). I have to sit down to get the core back in over the wicks. Go back, take a read, @2.8 (not bad). Because have cats, scoop up all loose silica pieces, wrap up in paper towel, throw away.

Put juice in evod, wet wick ends, let soak a bit while cleaning other tanks, wicks. Take a vape, it's going good. Starts to gurgle. I'm thinking, wicks not thick enough? (have you guessed the problem yet?). Pull out, and there is dripping from the bottom. Of course, this didn't start till after vaping. I'm wondering if I got the chimney, core in tight enough. Pull out the other evod coil I was cleaning.

Dayum. Threw the grommet away with the silica wicks. I've never thrown the grommet away. Bummer, even if I'd just c,earned it, would have had to toss it. I even hoard iclear 30 condoms, because some get stained. Oh well, at least I know I can do it. Have ordered some silica wick from discount vapors (don't want to use all my iclear 30's to rebuild protank coils).

Learned lessons, can do the rebuild, can do dry burn without killing coil, and DON'T LOSE THE DAMN PLASTIC PARTS!! Really wished could have enjoyed that wick. Later, will get some kanthal, and maybe sharper scissors?

It takes time to learn to rebuild. I just couldn't get the hang of how much cotton to use. If to much I would suck my brains out. If to little it leaked bad. Almost gave up...then decided to try Peaches and Cream White Yarn from Walmart. Boiled it and let it dry ( did this in a few small strands of yarn ). Made my coil, thread the yarn thru the coil.....perfect amount of cotton....trimmed it and it all came out good.

I can tell you I have a few disabilities myself. I got a Magnifying/Light Lamp off Amazon...that helped quit a bit. I too have lost a few grommets myself.....never could find them even with looking for it on my hands and knees with a flashlight.

It take me quite a bit a time just to build a half a dozen coils but the satisfaction that I get from doing it is well worth it. On good days rebuilding can be faster.

Stay with it...it will get better!!!

Here's a good thread once you get your kanthal. It tells you how many coils to wrap and what size gauge gives you for ohms -

Thanks to ALL of you, have also found another thread about evod coil building (was looking for best size of silica, going to start with the standard 2mm). As a side note, watched a video on iclear rebuilds, not so much. Maybe later on the aspire bdc rebuilds, will keep the coils not burnt to try. But think I am progressing more and more to kanger products. But an iclear 30 coil can take quite the dry burn, and keep on puffing. :vapor:

Read my blogs on Aspire tips and coil building. I'm 60 and a little shaky plus the eyesight of old age. I got one of those thing for fishing flies that has gator clips and a magnifying glass. Holds the coil while I thread the wick.

I have some cheap clearos with a bottom coil similar to the evod/pt. I recoiled one and forgot the rubber. Wet hands. Tried again and still leaked up the tube and out the bottom. Took out the silica and tried cotton twine. Still leaked. Finally added a piece of twine across the top of the coil/wick and that fixed it. Gotta love a $2.95 clearo with a 5 cent rebuild.
